What a treat .., I was in theTraverse City location several years ago and was THRILLED to see it in Kalamazoo... itâs just great ... After having many enjoyable meals at the cafe, the last tow visits were ruined by terrible service. On both occasions, we waited for 15-20 minutes while the servers chatted among themselves. The last time we went, the server stood chatting with guests she obviously knew very well. After 20 minutes of being totally ignored while she caught up on the latest gossip, we got up and walked out. Nothing was said as we left. We won't be returning.Sorry, that you were ignored! We do encourage our servers to have guest interaction. But there is a point where it should be left for another time. I will make sure that our servers are aware of your complaint and I hope you will try us again in the near future.

My partner and I came for a weekend breakfast, we had to wait a good 45 minutes to get seated which was a bit frustrating - however it's typically a good sign when a place is so busy!We both had French Toast dishes, I had the Espresso French toast which was amazing! I've never had anything like it before, and it had a really great coffee flavour to it. Unfortunatly, my partners dish was not so good. The Amaretti French Toast came with a caramel sauce that had all congealed, and there was far too much of it on the dish. A highlight of the joint is that it has a nice airy bright feel to the restaurant, it's great if you can get a seat by the window like we did. The service was really friendly and quick, overall a pretty good visit but I can see that perhaps some dishes can be hit and miss.
