Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Maidstone. Maidstone is a large, historically important town in Kent, England, of which it is the county town. The River Medway runs through the centre of the town, linking it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river carried much of the town's trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of settlement in the area dating back before the Stone Age. The town, part of the borough of Maidstone, had a population of 107,627 people in 2011. There has been a shift in the town's economy since the Second World War away from heavy industry towards light industry and services.

Discovered this little cafe by accident whilst looking for somewhere to have a drink and a gluten free cake.Great choices, the vegan cheesecake is lovely, and my husband could enjoy a milkshake (he hasn't had one in years as he's gluten and dairy free). Will definitely return and have recommended it to others!

Having last visited in December 2017, where I found the service very slow, I called in for breakfast recently and found not only that the service was much better but that the breakfast was first rate. The coffee (latte) is not quite as good as some of the better recognised coffee shops but was OK. Good enough for me to call in a second time, and in my future annual working visits to Maidstone.

Had another lovely brunch here today with the kids! Nice seating area outside however we opted to sit inside because there were lots of bees, did find it quite amusing how a lot of customers seemed to blame this on staff...surely that's just the season we are in? In any case it was delicious and could see that even though the place was very busy we didn't mind waiting as could see everyone was doing their best! Again did notice others being grumpy about waiting but I guess there's no pleasing some folk! Will definitely be back for more pancakes and sandwiches, thank you again!

We absolutely love The Living Cafe. They do the best coffee in Maidstone. Food is excellent too, and the menu is regularly changing. We are into oat milk cappuccinos, and this is one of the few cafes where you can have one. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the whole coffee making process. If u haven’t discovered this gem of a place, do yourself a favour and stop by for a drink and a bite to eat. If you have any special requests off menu, they are always happy to oblige and adapt.

Had Afternoon Tea for two here today using a Groupon voucher. Lovely homemade cakes on display but unfortunately you don’t get them with the Afternoon Tea. It consisted of 8 finger sandwiches (ham and mustard, egg and cress, smoked salmon and cream cheese and cucumber), 4 cocktail sausage rolls, 2 fruit scones with cream and jam, and 6 tiny cakes that probably came from Bookers. Pleasant enough and good value for the £13.95 Groupon price but I would have been disappointed if I’d paid the full price of £30.00. Come on guys, how about some of your lovely homemade cakes!
