We had a lovely time here .we had the homity pie which is a ww2 type meal , potatoes,onions n cheese,it was delicious.we also had cream tea which was also delicious.they play 1930s music which was lovely n it's table service n the waitress is dresses in old maid style outfits .it really is a lovely small place will definitely be returning .just remember to bring cash has they have no card facilities .

We stopped in Biddulph with our 15wk Zuchon, Tilly. We stopped off at Leek on our way home. We knew that The Market Kitchen was dog friendly so decided to go there for some breakfast. So kind. They said "Hello, How are you?" soon as we walked in and loved Tilly. They even took a photo to pin up on the board - I wanna see it. Ha.We got some breakfast. I ordered Scrambled Eggs and Salmon on Muffin! Top top marks. Delicious and totally hit the spot. Gemma ordered a breakfast bap, Bacon and Egg which I have on good information was more than just a standard bap and tasted "Hard to describe, but, really nice"

Went for breakfast on Motherâs Day. Itâs was superb. Service was excellent, and the breakfast was the fab. The best cooked breakfast Iâve had in a long time! Lovely thick bacon, super sausages and all the trimmings too including the excellent addition of an oatcake n cheese! Thank you for making the start of my Motherâs Day a lovely one! Lovely place, with a gorgeous view even on a rainy day. There's a great little shop with the excellent cottage delight range on sale along with some local produce from nearby villages. The waitresses were very friendly efficient and polite. The coffee was hot and good quality. One out of 5? We both had fish (I had the fish finger sandwich, Mr had the beer battered fish) and neither one of us could either taste the fish or decide what kind of fish it was supposed to be - I honestly assumed my "homemade fish finger" sandwich was cheap ready breaded flat fish bought in bulk frozen. Mr's fish was tasteless and pale - he described the flavour as watery, (the chips were also very pale, although were properly cooked) and looked unappetising. It's sad because every other detail was spot on, like i said the staff were great, the surroundings were great, the restaurant is clean and lovely touches like the ownbrand cottage delight condiments served with food. But the food itself was one massive disappointment and the very worst fish meal either of us have ever had. Overall, feeling extremely ripped off and wouldn't eat here again. Would go back though for the shop and the coffee.Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Night time visit so we didnât have the opportunity to try the food. A good atmosphere, plenty of space and very friendly clientele. The elephant in the room is the cask beer; Sharps Doombar (awful at the best of times), Black Sheep Special and Bass were all dreadful, does anyone here know how to manage live beer?Earl Grey from now on where they know how to do it properly.

Lovely quirky place with a great selection of craft and bottled beers. We visited as part of a pub crawl around Leek although didn't have food so can't comment on that. It's definitely a great place for a drink though and we found ourselves sat in two armchairs in a little room at the back. Loved the Magnificent Multitude Of Beer poster! Will definitely be back!glad you enjoyed the beers and our "Snug" room, look forward to seeing you again soon, hopefully you'll have chance to try our food and cake alongside the beers and try out the "Dog House" room on the next tripMany thanksLisa

Whilst there out of five is perhaps a bit harsh, it's all to do with the service rather than the food. Starting with the food, the mains and desserts were excellent, from my steak, the pie and sea bass, all great. The cheesecake was lovely, as were the other desserts. I kept with the Abbot cam beer, as the others were too happy, not bad condition but had better. So the service. It was a busy Friday night but the mains took an age to come and it was the same on a previous visit. Far too slow in comparison to other local busy pubs. We also didn't get asked once about drinks at the table but there definitely seemed to be a lack of staff, as we had to ask for food orders to be taken. Whilst I don't mind going to the bar, it gets very congested and the whole drinks thing needs sorting out.Overall, I think its slipping on comparison to other pubs and also previous visits.

Visited with family, place was packed at 7pm on a Saturday. Even so could not fault the service or the food. Generous portions and a nice dessert selection. One of our party was vegetarian but there was ample choice for them too would definitely revisit.

How can toilets not be moving forward after a year with no action at all?Great food, great beer, great staff, unfinished but clean toilets. Please get the job completed quickly.so you donât let your staff have to defend the decision to leave the loos unfinished.I emailed the owner who was rude and simply not interested that his toilets remain unfinished after a year! It appears the owner feels that not completing a job is perfectly satisfactory and that the customers perception of his establishments is second to his profits as he has enough money to open another pub nearby before finishing this one.I was banned for daring to raise my concerns with the owner directly - wow! Good job I have a sense of humour:-)
