we stayed at a local Burscough B&B on a self drive UK trip and had dinner at The Farmers Arms.Food was normal pub country food and was sufficient for the two of us.there is free parking availablewe would recommend eating at the Pub.

First (and last) visit to Merlins since new owners took over.Cannot comment on the food as we did not stay for any due to the presence of dogs.I really do not understand the owners obsession with these animals as in my view they should not be present in any establishment that serves food.

Out with friends for a Friday afternoon of fun in Ormskirk & feeling peckish.The Bagel Deli caught my eye and after a quick "sense check" on Trip Advisor, realised this place came highly rated.I chose a salt beef bagel & it didn`t disappoint.Plenty of moist, sliced salt beef on a plain bagel with gerkin & English mustard. Delicious.£3.99 (plus a little extra for the pickle) offered good value for a late lunch time treat.The homemade cakes looked wonderful, though I resisted temptation on this occasion.Service was friendly, personable & efficient.My first visit, but it won`t be my last. It`s very central, on Moor Street - a few yards from the clock tower.Well worth a try if you are in town. Recommended.

Visited with a friend, the service was friendly and efficient and the surroundings cosy. My friend had the full English breakfast which she said was excellent, and I loved the veggie breakfast, especially the authentic spices of the veggie black pudding which Iâd never had before. Great tasting toast too!

Fab food, excellent lunch tasting menu, 3 courses for £12, gravlax, tempura chicken goujons and lovely chocolate brownie dessert, partner had steak sandwich, grandson had a burger. Lovely relaxed lunch accompanied by a nearby dragonfly attracted by the adjacent canal.

Overall had a really nice meal, hubby had the grilled goats cheese and I had the smoked duck.. presented very nicely under a dome of smoke...Main meal roast beef was faultless although a little more pan gravy and more than a teaspoon of horseradish sauce would have been great... Rhum Baba for pudding was nice but cudnt taste any rum at all....Everything was very tasty and we will definitely be back

I visited Burscough Wharf initially to attend a vegan fair and try some vegan street food, however after shopping at the fair, we ended up in Rose Tree Tea Rooms instead! Very twee, old fashioned tea rooms, with vintage crockery, lovely decor and friendly staff. We ordered jacket potatoes with our various choice of fillings and we also ordered scones and hot drinks. I was pleased to note that I could have vegan choices, but best of all was the vegan scone. Probably the biggest scone Iâve ever had! Definitely a place I will revisit in the next few months. A wonderful evening in a fantastic restaurant. The food is amazing, the sea bass with risotto is to die for. Also had breakfast, it was beautiful and so well cooked. Not too much but I couldnât eat anything for the rest of the day, such a delightful breakfast. The staff are also fantastic and can not recommend this restaurant highly enough. You must visit!

We went to the Hop Vine for lunch today, the place was quite busy so I was glad I booked in advance.Order was taken quickly and arrived in good time and our choice of steak and ale pie was a good one! Perfectly cooked and tender meat in great pastry all covered in an excellent thick and tasty gravy. Staff were polite and helpful but not pushy.Couldnât fault the food, service or the environment, well done Hop Vine!

Have noticed this cafe driving past for a while and kept meaning to visit. Today I called in and was amazed at how good the food is. Cafe is very clean and smart with a varied healthy menu. The Budha boxes looked very good and were very popular. I had the smashed avacado on sourdough toast with poached egg, bacon and mushrooms. It was very tasty and was well presented. The coffee is also very good here. There is something on the menu for everyone here and the prices are very reasonable. Service is also good with very pleasant staff. Will be visiting regularly in future.Thanks very Much Mike! We will look forward to your next visit.
