The place has its attractiveness - easy going, on Cabo Branco magnificent sea promenade, wide choice, open air; but after all one comes here to eat, and that's were the good things stop - at least what I tried. I had burgers from two different trucks, one was better than the other, but both are better forgotten - greasy and salty.

I stayed in João Pessoa for 2 weeks and every night me and a friend would search TripAdvisor for restaurants. I notice Porto Madero was very near the Hotel I was in and decided to give it a try, even though it wasn't on TripAdvisor.And I'm glad I did it. The restaurant is located in what seems to be an old renewed mansion, with a very nice structure and environment. Being that the restaurant is fairly unkown, I wasn't surprised when there was only another couple there.The food we ordered came quickly and it tasted awesome. The pricing was average on what you expect to pay for a good meal in João Pessoa (around 90 reais for a full course with dessert and drinks).The waiter was also very pleasant, explaining the beer I ordered was warm and suggest another brand and overall I was very satisfied with service.

The starter/buffet, the cocktail waiter, the quality of the food and the cheerful attentiveness is the waiters is just the very best, meaning better than excellent. A marvellous evening at a ridiculously low price. We have to go back and this time leave room for a desert. Thanks for the visit and for the evaluation! This is our third time eating hereâyouâd think Iâd learn my lesson.Nau is considered one of the best restaurants in this city, but I donât know why. The ambience & the décor are beautiful. The food is mediocre at best; while there are servers to be seen everywhere, the service is disappointing.My wifeâs lunch looked presentable, but both side dishes (rice & potato puree) were cold. The fish was served with a dish of mayonnaiseâcheap mayonnaise (not even tartar sauce). My lunch tasted ok, but looked sad. Oh yeah, it was also served with shoestring potatoes straight from the bag.This restaurant is literally overrated (I simply canât believe how many 5-star reviews people have given this place).Obrigado pelo seu feedback! The caipirinhas here are perfect - ice cold and beautiful. Our whole, freshly-grilled sea bass was delicious, and the service was excellent. Our menus were in English, and there were several German items available, but this is definitely a typical João Pessoa beach kiosk-style place to relax and enjoy the city. We visited early on a Tuesday evening when it was not crowded. The only drawback was that the live music had not yet started. I'll be here in João Pessoa for another two months, and I plan to go back again - but later next time to check out the music.

We ordered the most costly entree, with the lobster and shrimp for three persons. The presentation was excellent, even though the service was slow (not for lack of service, but for time of preparation). Unfortunately, in this city our experience has been that the shellfish are overcooked, which was no different here. The lobster, in particular, was very dry. Melted butter was provided on request. The wine list was adequate, and the wine we ordered well served. This restaurant does not charge a service fee, but the waiter hit us up for one anyway, which he could not include on the bill. The restaurant provides a pleasant environment.

We ate lunch at Gulliver Mar Restaurante, which is located on the oceanfront in Cabo Branco. The restaurant is upscale casual. The views of the beach of Joao Pessoa cannot be beat.The service was ok (my wifeâs drink order was forgotten), but the food was disappointing: we ordered the deep fried Camembert (which we had at Gulliver Restaurante and loved), but here it was served barely lukewarm, and lacked the melty texture that makes it so good; the squid rings were completely unseasoned. My wife also had the Provençal octopus, but it also lacked seasoning. I had the âpeixe Gulliverâ (fish Gulliver), which I assumed would be their signature dish. Firstly, they serve the main courses on very large square plates, so they have a lot of blank space to fill. On one side of the plate, they place a shrimp/rice/tomato ârisottoâ, but the shrimp were uncleaned and the rice was a bit overcooked; the fish (I was told was grouper), was a sad, small, thin overcooked, unseasoned piece of fishâa complete disappointment.To top it all off, I had gum stuck under my table like a cheap diner.The price, while not heart-stoppingly high, was too high considering the quality of the items. We really enjoyed Gulliver Restaurante, and I really wanted to like Gulliver Mar Restaurante too, but I cannot say that I did.Hello Edward, we would first like to apologize for not having the best experience possible. Gulliver Mar Restaurant has an immense concern with the quality of its dishes and excellence in service, once again we apologize, the run was an isolated fact, but will serve to increase even more the rigor in the preparation of the dishes, as we focus on the best possible experience for our customers. To be in first place at TA list, I expected something else...No problem is located inside a non front beach hotel, but people having dinner with shirt and sandals is kind of inappropriate...Also, I made myself a reservation and my name was not in the guest list...but we were arranged in a table soonly, because the place wasnât full...Our waiter and wine guy (same person) was great and the food average, but could be a little bit late served...(giving us the impression of âfast foodâ, literally).Iâm not a fancy guy but some fancy details are missing here, if you know what I mean...Dear Mr Grassi,We would like to thank you for your feedback about our services.Clients comments are taken immensely seriously and I wanted to sincerely apologize for the service failures you experienced. Great location but food was not good and overpriced. Clientele there to impress. Site not handicap accessible and elderly guest had extremely difficult time just to get in restaurant. No help offered to open side door which likely not used since opened into dining area.

What an excellent surprise! We were in the mall and saw a new restaurant opened, so we stopped to look at the menu and decided to give it a try. WOW!!! Excellent food! I can say without hesitation that this steakhouse is the best in the entire northeast of Brazil. The restaurant is beautifully and tastefully decorated; the service is attentive yet friendly; the staff are consummately professional and the food is incomparable.The food is not your typical Brazilian churrascaria, but rather a true steakhouse. They offer Kobe beef (which was to die for), beef Wellington, tomahawk steaks and many other options. The Kobe beef and the filet mignon were served at our requested doneness. The seasoning was perfect.Our waiter (Miguel) was very professional and helpful; the maître dâ was avuncular and pleasant; the executive chef (Manoel) visited our table and after talking to him, it was obvious that theyâve got the right man for the jobâheâs detail-oriented and has a background in fine dining from São Paulo that really shows in the preparation and plating of the food.I really hope that this restaurant gets the recognition that it deserves and continues to thrive because I look forward to eating here every chance I can. This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Paraiba and should not be missed.
