Restaurant has a good thorough menu. Focus is clearly BBQ. Portions are very generous, good variety of sides. Per my certified BBQ judge husband, the BBQ is fine, which means mediocre. There are fish options for non BBQ eaters. Not a surprise, minimal wine options.

A Northland institution, Smokehouse serves up great beef (including my favorite burnt ends), outstanding pork, fabulous beans and other sides that include zucchini-cooked to perfection. To go orders are packaged expertly to arrive at their destination ready to go. LOVE LOVE LOVE

My husband and I went for lunch, exercising our retirement options. Smokin' Joe's had good lunch bargains, very cheap for the food you get. The options were not the usual kinds of things, but were good. The cost was quite reasonable, if you weren't tempted away from the lunch specials.

Ate here 2 years ago, that time it poured too. Clean and bright with friendly servers. Very good food and large portions. Dining room is quieter than front room. Place is sprinkler protected and has additional exits but they are partially obscured by fixtures and decorations and not visible from remote corners.
