Weligama (Sinhalese: වැලිගම, Tamil: வெலிகாமம்) is a town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Matara District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. The name Weligama, literally means "sandy village" which refers to the area's sandy sweep bay. It is approximately 144 kilometres (89 mi) south of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 9 metres (30 ft) above the sea level.

Lovely beachfront restaurant that offers a wide range of seafood based dishes. Food is absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. They also have a great selection of beverages. Prices are moderate and customer service is commendable. Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the area.

We visited Tides several times during our week stay at the Marriott. The bar has a very relaxed atmosphere and its a lovely place to chill over a drink. The ladies that waited on us were always so welcoming and friendly and eager to ensure everything was just right. We really enjoyed the Marriott burgers which were consistently excellent and the chick satay were delicious. I had some incredible cocktails and when a particular ingredient wasn't available the barman made up something similar which was really yummy. So, good barman too. We had visited with my 6 year old and sea food averse husband. The waiter was kind enough to make a special egg curry rice for my husband and a potato mash wrap for my daughter. Their pasta, prawns and chicken are absolutely delicious. A little heavy on your pockets but worth the ambience. Itâs by the sea and you need eagleâs vision for their sign board. Google maps always to the rescue.

Great food, shisha, environment. Very friendly owner and staff, best night life in Weligamaâºï¸We kept coming back here every other night during our stay in Weligama and felt like at home. Itâs a brand new restaurant with a cosy interior.We love vegan food and this place has amazing options like falafels, hummus, interesting salad options. Generous portions to enjoy. Had the chicken tortilla wrap and the chicken had definitely been cooked/ fried a couple of weeks before, then frozen and then re-heated. It was unpalatable.Would not recommend, left all of it. Dear Guest, We are very sorry that your experience with us was poor. We take great care in serving our guests with food that is best in taste as well as in quality. Therefore, we are not sure of what took place here. Nevertheless, our apologies. Eat.....Live.....Love

Bad-small portions (main dish not even close to standard Sri Lankan sizes)-expensive compared to other Sri Lankan restaurants -food was tasteless. Ordered the Thai Chicken Curry and it was extremely bland. One of the worst meals I have had in Sri Lanka ( nearing the end of a 2.5week trip)Good-The view was awesome-Food came quick

Amazing restaurant right on the beach. My partner and I tried almost everything on the menu and were never disappointed. I particularly loved the mango lassi and the curry was one of the best I've ever had! The staff were super friendly and helpful, providing us with valuable local knowledge. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The happy hour from 1-10pm was a nice touch too
