Discover Restaurants offering the best Bar food in Vallejo, California, United States. Vallejo (/vəˈleɪ(h)oʊ/ və-LAY-(h)oh; Spanish: [baˈʎexo]) is a waterfront city in Solano County, California, located in the North Bay sub-region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Vallejo is geographically the closest North Bay city to the inner East Bay, so it is sometimes mistakenly associated with that region. The population was 115,942 at the 2010 census. It is the tenth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the largest in Solano County. Vallejo sits on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay, 30 miles north of San Francisco, the northwestern shore of the Carquinez Strait and the southern end of the Napa River, 15 miles south of Napa. The city is named after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, a native Californio, leading proponent of California's statehood, and one of the first members of the California State Senate; the neighboring city of Benicia is named for his wife, Francisca Benicia Carrillo de Vallejo.

My wife and I stopped here for dinner after a day at the nearby Discovery Kingdom theme park. The restaurant was pretty busy although they managed to find a table for us straight away. I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken which was tasty, and we shared a large dessert. Service was friendly. You can check and pay for the bill via the screens on the table, although we paid in the more traditional way. There is ample parking outside. All in all a tasty meal at reasonable prices.

Love Viks Wheelhouse. My favorite place for fish & chips, although the blue cheese-bacon burger seems to find it's way to my seat pretty often. You have to be patient with the service, the bartender handles pretty much everything except the cooking and when the place is busy things can get backed up. Settle in and admire the view, either from inside or on the floating dock. You shouldn't be in a hurry anyway/

Read a few previous comments not so complimentary. The building was deceptively small, but made up for it in the enclosed patio overlooking the wharf area. They also have open air seating in the front. Found the staff most pleasant and prompt with their service. The menu was extensive with fish or shellfish dishes. Also have Steak and salads too. I had the Kobe Beef Burger due to food allergies, and the son had the Cajun Jambalaya. When the plates hit the table, they arrived steaming hot and the smells emanating from the Jambalaya were mouth watering. The burger was done perfectly, and came with the usual garnishes to complete it. The fries accompanying the burger were also done to perfection, Nice and crispy with the insides cooked thoroughly, but not limp and undercooked like Mickey D's nor were they extra well done either. I find it difficult to find fries cooked to my level of crispiness, but the chef back in the kitchen nailed it. Happy Camper I was. Arrived as the sun was setting and the view, the sky, and and the day winding down made the experience a positive one. I will certainly return in the future..

If there were 3.5 stars, I would give this restaurant that rating. The views and location by the water is definitely 5 stars. It's a nice place to watch the sunset. Everything else in the restaurant was mediocre in terms of decor, food and service. Our appetizer was heavily breaded and almost felt burnt. Beef dishes were all in the $30+ range and nothing special. A dinner companion also found his chicken strips disappointing. Service was just fair. i had to get up off the table to get some sugar for my coffee. Bottom line for this restaurant, go for the view.

we fell into this joint based on my pal's love of the coffee served at the other establishment in the ferry building. they have a full range of beers & ales brewed on mare island just across the river. we enjoyed our lunch and plan to go back.one very cool thing is the beer table menu, which is a small booklet between aluminum boards that gives the titles of brews named after persons or events associated with the navy or the island. each page is very interesting and often amusing, giving some of the history of this much-overlooked but famous naval base built in the 20s & 30s.i go there when i feel like a 'treat' lunch - something a little more expensive than the norm, something conceived and prepared with the idea of 'luncheon' rather than fast food...

First challenge: finding the driveway to get into the parking lot (we overshot it and had to make a strange u-turn that was probably totally legal). Big, comfort-food menu with gluten-free options, substantial portions, friendly staff, but what I ordered was not what I got. I didn't want to fuss (nor will I call out the server who was super sweet but was confused what I wanted). I ended up with a veggie omelet, which is okay. What I wanted was a veggie benedict with scrambled instead of poached eggs. What is the difference? 6000 calories worth of Hollandaise sauce. Refills on drinks came quickly and with a smile. It's a nice location.
