Fox and Hounds has the best selection of beer in town, the friendliest staff I've experienced in Denmark, and there's not a single bad item on the food menu. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the environment is very relaxed and casual. If you're around Sønderborg, make sure you stop by, you can't go wrong.

I've been to Torvehallen on several occasions for a take away pizza. The variety is interesting compared to other restaurants and pizzarias in the area, and the taste is usually good. On my last visit however, I witnessed the owner talking down to one of the employees. It was a clearly audible scolding for everybody in the restaurant, which granted wasn't a lot og people at the time, and it was over a salad. Now I do respect that the owner wants a certain standard and that the salad lacked something to live up to that. But this scolding made me cringe. It was out of place and unnecessarily loud.After the scolding the owner walked by me and gave me the slimiest of smileys as if the demeaning scolding was natural and to be expected. With such disregard for his staff's wellbeing, I am done eating food from Torvehallen, and I sincerely hope his chef has found a better place to work.

So this small city is fairly quiet.. and I have spent 5 months here exploring food options. The beer is great and the spring beer is very drinkable. Food is westernised and familiar tasting. Burgers are great and the nachos are amazing.Only when the view outside changes from ghost town to summer city will I give it 5 stars, but for now. Probably the easiest food to eat in the City
