5 o'Clock Somewhere has expansive views of Playa Flamingo with fabulous sunsets and warm ocean breezes! The drinks are great and we enjoyed Hora Feliz (Happy Hour) several times a week during our month long stay. Best of all were the friendly staff who greeted us warmly every time we arrived and made us feel so welcome! We would like to mention bartender Elias and servers Errol and Fiona. They were delightful and generous and Elias made the most beautiful Margarita ever!

If youâd like an average hamburger for a lot of $$, this is your place. Server was the same lady from Ponciana the night before. She was very pleasant but the level of service was similar to Ponciana the night before. This was not her fault, I just think the property and management foster this level of service as acceptable. The burgers were mostly flavorless and very well done when we asked for medium or medium well across our group. We waited for 45 min before receiving our order. For lunch that is too long. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. I suggest buying your own ingredients cooking in your room!

We took the family out to dinner and had a great meal at a good price. Everyone got something different and we all shared. The pizza was wonderful, the nachos were piled with meat, the fish was delicious and the drinks topped it all off.

Our family of six had a fun time finding this place, and were glad we did. It's a great place to relax by the beach, have some tropical drinks and good food. We stayed around to watch the sun set on a huge rock between two islands off shore. The team of servers was very attentive. Our only complaint would be the constant battle to keep pesky flies off of our drinks and food.Hello Birdguy: Thank you for your review and for your business! I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. I have watched many sunsets between the mountain and island in front of Father Rooster. It is quite a display. Glad you enjoyed the food and drinks. I wish that we had a better solution for the flies. They come on occasion and cover the entire region--generally when the winds are pushing out from the farmland over the ocean. It is pretty tough to keep them at bay. We came to dinner at Scooters. If you are staying in playa flamingo, you should definitely check it out. It is a great location in downtown flamingo so it is easy to walk to, and has a wonderful ambiance with a pool, bar and TVs. (Not far from Margaritaville)Itâs perfect for families or couples. The menu had tacos, burgers, bbq, wings, salads, and sandwiches. We ordered the BLT with avocado, salad and fries. All our food was delicious! They also have great beer on tap -some IPAs and service was excellent. Iâd highly recommend! Thank you so much for this great review. Just getting started down there, we appreciate all the feedback we can get!

This place ended up being our go to spot. The staff are amazingly nice. To add to the wonderful employees, there is a mix of local regulars that are willing to chat and give you tips on your stay. But the food!!! A nice varity of food done with quality.

This is my first TripAdvisor review ever which says a lot about the calibre of food and service you'll get at El Castillo's. My husband and I visited twice for dinner during our stay in Costa Rica. There are many great places to dine in the area but El Castillo's food was so delicious and thoughtfully crafted that we visited twice, despite our general rule to never visit the same place twice. The first time we visited I ordered the mushroom burger that had a beautiful port sauce and my husband ordered the Timmy sandwich. Both were delicious. Tonight we went for the rib dinner -- a Friday special -- and it was out of this world. We were stuffed but couldn't refuse an order of the Snickers cheesecake that was just sublime and I'm not someone who has a sweet tooth. Everything is homemade and delicious. The owner and staff are attentive and the food is out of this world. Do yourself a favor and visit El Castillo.. you will not regret it!

We drove the golf cart from Playa Flamingo and had dinner at The Beach House. Nice little 10 minute drive. The restaurant is small and the tables overlook the beach. Nice variety on the menu from fresh seafood to fried baskets to burgers, and everything we ordered tasted great. Watermelon mojito was yummy!

I was really surprised at the quality of this place. But first things first. The restaurant is located inside a gated community on top of the hill or mountain, whatever you want to call it. The restaurant is open concept with fully open walls situated next to the infinity pool, which when it's light provides breathtaking views.But that is not the only one selling point for the restaurant. The place has a bar which is a great thing when you're in the pool. But the food is also amazing. I don't know how the other dishes are but the seafood and steak that we had ordered were amazing. The place wasn't packed but it was definitely busy. It always seems to be busy but it closes pretty early by New York standards but by Costa Rican it seems to be pretty normal.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Jennifer and the other young lady at the Front Desk. We owe her and the entire hotel staff extreme debt of gratitude. My partner and I were staying at a local, all inclusive, paid in full week-long resort down the road. We were having such a horrible experience we decided to check out of the resort early. To make the story short, (review in this case) we ended up here and everyone was so delightful and nice. The cleanliness of the hotel and service were great, attentive. The bartenders are very nice at the restaurant and bar, especially in the mornings.I was sitting at the bar one evening and noticed how disrespectful most of the american tourists were. However, I did also notice the bartenders at night are completely different and know how to handle the crowd.Overall, I respected the fact that when you check-in the first thing they tell you is ***caution Friday's there's ladies night***
