We had an excellent lunch in the piazza of the castle of asparagus risotto followed by melon and prosciutto . It was a weekday and there were no crowds whatsoever. a very relaxing and peaceful afternoon sitting outside under the umbrella. The waitress was friendly and attentive, the open air dining making for a wonderful day.A little history of Marostica:In September of every even year a game of chess using live pieces is played in the piazza acting out a play written by comedy writer Vucetich Mirko. During the play the game takes place on the square in front of the Lower Castle with supporters carrying the noble ensigns of Whites and Blacks, in the presence of the Lord, his noble daughter, the Lords of Angarano and Vallonara, the court and the entire town population. This fictional story is now re-enacted in the main square of Marostica every second Friday, Saturday and Sunday of September of even-numbered years. The orders are still given to the cast today in the local Language (Venetian) of the "Most Serene Republic of Venice".

Enjoyed the town square with our gelato here. I was also able to use the bathroom, which is a plus. Marostica is a cute little town.

Easily one of the best meals I've ever had. Excellent food, amazing prices, wonderful service. A friend and I showed up around 7pm for dinner starving. We were unaware of Italian customs and that was too early for dinner and the place was still setting up for dinner service. They still happily sat us in the bar area and brought us wine with a tray of appetizers. At proper dinner time, we were seated in the main dining area where there was a wonderful open oven with meat cooking. They then recommended the set meal for dinner with them making all food and drink decisions besides dessert. We had no idea what a treat we would be in for. Numerous carafes of wine and 6 courses including dessert! The food just kept coming and it was all specular! More appetizers, pasta, meat, veggies...At the end of the meal we were dreading the bill since we just ate and drank for hours without a care in the world and were shocked at how inexpensive it was. Just because of this restaurant I plan on coming back to the area again. HIGHLY recommend.

A dir poco ottimi, specialmente quello con la carne di sorana e quello con porchetta e cipolla caramellata in salsa barbecue. Giardino estivo rinnovato ed accogliente, perfetto per le serate all'aperto. Ottimo posto, con ottima selezione di birre... Da ritornare, specialmente con l'arrivo della stagione fredda per le serate a tema culinario...

We were a group of about 30 people and stopped for a lunch that was totally amazing. We were there for probably 2 hours and had many courses of delicious foods to everyone's delight--Many were made entirely on site from ingredients they grew in their garden.
