Looking for someplace different and found this place online. Decided to give it a try. It is in a shopping center with several other small ethnic restaurants. The seating has tables, booths, and a small bar. Staff friendly but some requests seemed to surprise them. We sat at the bar which has a small dining top and a wall so to speak between the patrons and the staff. They were able to make most drinks it seemed. The menu has some variety. We started with chips & salsa which was average good. Salsa to chips was not porportional. Next a salad with grilled chicken. Very good and fresh. Reasonably priced..good for someplace that is not a chain.

Our menu is filled with classic American dishes like steak, salmon, burgers, sandwiches and salads, as well as other traditional favorites like slow-roasted prime rib and our famous chicken tenders, all at a great value.

We arrived at 11:15 on a Wednesday for a lunch with friends, total party of 6. We ordered with 5 minutes, and nothing strange or unusual. However, we waited 45 minutes for our food, and some was over cooked—the salmon in the wedge salad was burned! chicken tenders were tough. Our waitress was very slow and although it was a lunch time Wednesday, 45 minutes was ridiculous. We asked several times and were told it would be right out but it wasn’t. And then the individual bills were all mixed up. Won’t be returning.

We had one more night with my husband in town before he deployed to Lebanon for 6 months, and had the opportunity for a date night without the kids. Having grown tired of the same old chain restaurants in Hopkinsville, we decided to give Duke's a try. We were greeted promptly at the door by the manager, Bobby. He kindly showed us to our table, said that he would be back to check on us, and to please be honest with him in regards to our experience at his restaurant. After that, our server, Brandon, immediately greeted us. I have to say, in a town that is notorious for poor service in its restaurants (ESPECIALLY at the business that formerly operated in this building)... Brandon was the absolute exception to that rule. He was amazingly polite and attentive throughout our entire meal. My husband went with one of his tried and true favorites: fish and chips. He was not disappointed, and said it was a wonderful meal! Funnily enough, my husband and I had, just a couple of days earlier, been talking about foods that we missed from back in Hawaii. One of the meals I miss the most was a good fried grouper sandwich. I am always leery of ordering fish like that from restaurants in towns that are quite some distance from coastal areas. But, I decided to give it a go this time. Boy, am I glad I did! That was honestly the best grouper sandwich I have ever had outside of Hawaii! It tasted fresh and not at all "fishy," was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of batter, and was a nice, thick piece of fish. Their tarter sauce is on point, and their fries were the perfect accompaniment! The remodel on this space was very well done, and I love the addition of the chalkboard tabletops. Had our kids been with us, I know they would have enjoyed them even more. We have never before felt compelled to leave a note on our receipt, but my husband wrote a short one thanking Bobby and Brandon for a wonderful meal on or last night together for several months. We will definitely be returning to Duke's again soon!
