Thanks to previous Trip Advisor reviewers for suggesting this excellent little restaurant. We might not have gone along Calle Meson unless looking for it specifically. What a great find!! Got an outdoor table right by the door and received excellent service from Antonio (who was exceptionally gracious and who let us know when we had ordered enough for 2; we had two couples). All of the food was outstanding and the portions were exceptionally generous. The little glasses of red sangria also were quite welcome. Prices were very reasonable, particularly given the size of the portions. We had excellent fried calamari and somewhat average eggplant chips, along with rather unique shrimp tortillas, which Antonio indicated were a local dish not found elsewhere in Spain. Our friends had fried sardines, fried whole small calamari, and a steamed squid dish - all of which they enjoyed. Washed down with a couple of glasses of sangria on a sunny day, enjoying people watching for passers-by.

We stopped in Cafe de Levante for a post dinner drink and had a great time. We were able to sit out in the lovely Cadiz evening on the cobbled streets and watched as families & late night revellers passed by.The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our brief stay all the more enjoyable. We'd have stayed longer but we had a train to catch the next morning.

We stopped here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. It was getting very busy but managed to find a table, others a few minutes later were not so lucky. After eating here we can see why it is so popular particularly with the locals. There are some truly authentic Spanish dishes on the menu board and well worth trying something new.We were made very welcome. My wife ordered a vino rosado but found it not dry enough. The owner was very understanding and changed it for tinto at no cost.A great venue.

Great location so we sat down. Service was appalling. I watched as one man tried to explain to the waitress, in Spanish, that he ordered 2 express is not one. She shrugged her shoulders and he had to go in to get the second one himself. We got the attention of the other charmer of a waitress and were told we could order later after other people who came in after us. We walked! Another person will take our place so it's no skin off their nose.

Al tratarse de una Taberna y no contar con salón-comedor no tenemos servicio de reservas.De todas formas, vengan que les haremos un hueco en cualquier rincón. Disculpen las molestias
Been visiting for a few years.Seems they have gottan a lot busier in the past year or two.The menu has been extended and the bar/bottles been given a clean (boo!)But that's fine the service at the bar is still manageable for a timid extranjero! (some other bars I find difficult)Ususally only for a glass of Garum and maybe a little cheese on the way home from La Viña but had more on the last visit, chorizo and another cheese with asparagus jam (if I remember correctly). All really lovely, especially as we fought to get a barrel outside. It has changed but still has the magic.

Great little restaurant and popular with locals.Get there early after opening time to get one of only 2 tables. Most eat at the bar.Food is excellent and imaginative with great house wine.If you want something different from traditional Tapas, this is one to try.Prices are very reasonable.

bar located in the neighborhood of the vineyard in Cadiz, fresh food, meat, fish and various
Came here because of TA reviews. Arrived as they opened, and got a table straight away. Within 15 minutes the place was full. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who looked after us all evening. We chose from an extensive menu, Cold Tuna and potatoes, Spicy chips, Bashed (or could be Damage) eggs which was fried potatoes with chorizo and 2 fried eggs sitting on top, pigs cheek, and sirloin steak. All washed down with 6 glasses of good wine and a Pedro Ximenez sherry to finish. 39Euro! Superb and excellent in every department, a must if you are in Cadiz.
