While staying in Ellmau we had lunch twice in Lobewein 2nd time because we enjoyed it do much the first time!The service is good and as usual in Austria and other European countries the bill follows last, unlike the UK where money has to be paid before you have eaten...The menu was very good with English written menus available. The prices are the norm for Austria but not too expensive. We paid â¬8.50 or thereabouts for 1/2 chicken with chips and very huge portions.I would recommend this restaurant for eating and drinking in Ellmau.

the place is a very demanded restaurant, Cafe, and a touristical mustsee. Unfortunatel, that costs quality - we had several times the imagination, that the Kaiserschmarr´n was warmed or came from a convenience product. Ok, if a place is so big, it may be difficult to make everything fresh, however, we like iot fresh and so we will visit Wochenbrunner Alm for drinks and Coffe (the coffe is pretty bad, by the way), but not for eating again

After a trip on the Kitzbüheler Horn (beautiful view) booked a table (recommend making a reservation) at this 'institute' with the family. An extensive choice of merely traditional dishes with attention to Bio products. Nice kids menu as well. Huge wine list (really you may need help of the Sommelier) and friendly attentive service, not too formal which was nice. Food was perfect with big portions. You pay a little more probably compared to your local town restaurant but quality is clearly higher so surely not too expensive. Beautiful place as well. Five stars. We stopped off for lunch before heading for Kitzbuehel. We had a lovely table by the window with the sun streaming in. The Schnitzel, Tyrollean platter, sausages etc. were all very good and we did not have room for dessert. The waiting staff were friendly and relaxed.

Been there a few times as it is a rather small restaurant with friendly service and great meals. Try the poachers dish, it contains local wild meats and sides. Just a few km outside Kitzbuehl and away from all the fancy stuff.

I've been here before. I gave it five stars before. I'll be coming here again.It's probably my favourite mountain restaurant in an area that has lots of nice mountain huts. Espresso and Hagebuttentee. Rosehip to you. Not the best espresso, but this is Austria, not Italy. Service was good. We came back a few hours later for lunch. Ribs, BBQ sauce, potato salad. I could have had a baked potato or chips. My partner had Wienerschitzel with chips, so I stole some of hers. Plate piled high, and all good

The views from the tables that surround the outer edge of this restaurant are absolutely amazing. I could just gaze out all day, but then you need to look at the excellent menu. Just ask as they have English menus if required. A massive choice and everyone in our party enjoyed all their meals. The ribs are massive, the salad is huge, you can always buy one and share. Even the bowl of chips could feed three! An excellent outside terrace if the sun is shining.

We happend to pass at lunch time and decided to have lunch in their garden. And we were not disappointet. Great food, fair prices and above all excellent service. This restaurant has been transformed from a Mexican eatery into a superb Austrian restaurant. The staff are polite and welcoming with (fortunately for the good lady and I) a very good command of the English language. The food is excellent and served quickly. We would reccomend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ellmau.
