Had lunch here recently and it is ok for Narrabri. We do not have a lot to choose from and I had not been here for a while. I had a "Fillet steak burger"........tough piece of fillet it was and way over cooked. Came with supermarket fries on a bread board. It was a cold day and the board quickly drained any heat left in the fries!!! Others had the chicken which was good and the same could be said of the vege tart.Seating is a bit weird and can be a crowded area if the movies are on at the same time.Worth a visit if its not movie time.

Pub food, not terrible, quick and simple, no fuss, you get what you pay for. If you have a strict diet, you might struggle here, but the food is honest and reliable.

Travelling through for work and had an overnight stay. Came across this place for breakfast early. Very clean and tidy with a nice warm welcome from the young lady at the counter. I ordered shakshukah, colleague had bacon and eggs.Food arrived very quickly and were generous served. The shakshukah was out of this world; you’d think you were in Mediterranean! Fantastic!Well priced and very popular with the locals too it seems. Highly recommend

The Outback Shack Bar & Grill

This has been my eatery of choice in Narrabri and have visited several times over last 5 years. It offered reliable good quality. Alas no longer. Table service was on offer and it was reasonable and friendly. Beer and wine fine. Food awful. I ordered the house specialty Parmy Outback. It ws thinly cut overcooked heavily fried and I suspect left sitting in a baine marie for a long time. Not moist in the slightest and chewey to boot. Undoubtedly the worst chicken parmigiana I have had. That would include the last 45 years.Vegies were moist and slushy. I picked up a chip and it folded like a piece of wet rope. Greasy and again had been resting somewhere for quite some time. The cheese topping was all right. Maybe it had come out from under a grill prior to serving. My wife chose the baked barra. Fillet appeared to have been cut lengthwise again to give it a better chance to dryout. Dry and tasteless. Vegies and chips were of same identical standard. We did not eat the chips for fear they would stick in our throats. The meal standard was poor. Seriously poor and the club needs to sort it out. The prices charged are well in excess of cafeteria prices. The standard well below cafeteria standards. Significantly on paying the bill the staff did not ask whether we enjoyed the meal. I can understand why. I did not bother complaining as I did not feel that anyone who had so little pride in their meals would give a hoot. I wont be back until I know the problem is fixed.
