We went to Grenfell to visit friends and after 3 weeks on the road the coffee and amenities were on top of the list. The service was excellent and we just had a light breakfast/morning tea. the cakes are locally cooked and the muffins had been baked the morning of our visit, definitely not processed and thawed because you can tell the cakes and slices have real country flavour

My recent breakfasting experiences have been blighted by the seeming inability of some young kitchen workers to perform the simple task of correctly frying an egg. How delighted I was then to order a Big Breaky at the Star Diner and to find two perfectly fried eggs on top. No yolks still bright yellow and slimy but peachily pink while keeping the yolk beneath runny. Add an element of crispiness to the edge of the whites and all was perfection. Everything else was good too. Bacon more tasty than most was an added delight.

Arrived InTown and were directed to the Albion for dinner. Older type of country hotel and like all country pubs, if money was available, could do with an update to the present, although, this may change the atmosphere. Patrons were friendly, but some bar staff serve locals before blowins, had to wait until last man standing at the bar. We had our dinner in an outside games area on street level under cover. We arrived on chicken parmigiana special night. Very good, large serve with chips or salad, beer is good, wine available in small bottles.
