Unfortunately we used this restaurant tonight. We called them just after they opened and got told delivery was 40 mins! Nearly an hour and a half later I called for a update and got told the delivery driver had only just left!!!!! Nearly two hours later I called again and got told he was not far away!!! When it finally turned up most the food was average apart from the Chinese roast pork which was 95% noodles and 5% pork. Really disappointing after waiting so long for it!! Over all good but food hit and miss and be prepared to wait a long time if you want delivery!! If honest we will not be using them again!!

Well what can I say. Staff excellent greeted with smiles. Very busy pleasant restaurant. All staff couldn’t be anymore helpful, a little hectic and busy but dealt with everything thrown their way. Always made sure that everyone was happy with their food.. Sea food sizzle says as is on the menu and came out sizzling hot. Will definitely come back.

Mahdi Lounge

Busy on a Tuesday night probably holiday makers nice atmosphere and plenty of elbow room. Mixed tandoori, king prawns and lamb Rogan ordered with rice etc. Arrived swiftly by attentive waiter. Came with "fresh salad" which looked rubbish to be fair ( iceberg lettuce, bit of carrot and onion thrown in a bowl!) Prawn still tail on, few bits of chewy lamb amongst some nice cuts, tandoori chicken tasted lovely, 3 people with bottle of average white wine and 1 glass of red 3 poppadoms with chutneys at start £90 with service charge so could be better.

Incredible evening, sitting at the very table in the picture ( as the light faded that wall was bathed in coloured spotlights). I doubt if the service could be bettered in many restaurants around the world; it was absolutely first-class. The menu choice was superb and every course that my wife and I had was cooked to perfection and contained flavours that we hadn't experienced before. As if that wasn't enough, we received 'pre-appetisers' and also 'pre-mains', which were again exquisite. The atmosphere and overall ambience, coupled with the excellent service, was fantastic. If this review sounds a little bit 'over the top', that's because my wife and I are both around sixty years of age, but agreed that we'd both never had a dining experience quite like it. If you want a really special evening out in a restaurant then look no further.Thank you for your review, we are so glad you enjoyed and look forward to seeing you again

Mahdi Spice

Reviewed By Eyekaytoo

We had a lovely Indian meal at the Mahdi Spice on Sunday evening recently. The place wasn't very full and we had the full attention of the three waiters who looked after us extremely well. We started with a couple of popadums and a variety of 5 different pickles, including my favourite lime pickle and a special, homemade one from the restaurant based on a spicy ketchup. I washed this down with a pint of Cobra beer. For starters I wanted to try a spicy lentil Dhal. Unfortunately what came wasn't that spicy but it was still tasty enough. I had a bit more luck with the chicken vindaloo which had a bit more kick to it - just... My beer glass must had had a hole in it as the Cobra disappeared quite quickly making room for a pint of Kingfisher.Service throughout was polite and friendly even when I made the faux pas and enquired about the absence of any Diwali celebrations. This restaurant is run by Muslims. Oops, sorry.
