Reviews on Asian food in Rotterdam, South Holland Province, The Netherlands. Holland's most modern city began as a fishing village in the 13th century. It was developing into an industrial and trading power when German bombers destroyed the city center and harbor in 1940. However, Rotterdam's unique architecture now brings many visitors to bike around this urbane, cosmopolitan city. Old Dutch-style houses can still be found in historic Delfshaven, from where the pilgrims set sail in 1620. Cultural offerings from summer's carnival to classical music give Amsterdam competition.

We visited Little V without a reservation on a saturday around 16h30 to have our "lunch". For Dutch people this is closer to dinner time, but that didn't matter. The food was very good and the portions had a good size. In my opinion the service could have been a bit more friendly but nothing too shocking. Good food, beautiful restaurant and decent service. Try to sit outside with good weather, many tables are surrounded by glass walls so you do not have issues with the wind (and yes, in Rotterdam there is quite some wind in general).

Ambience: the interiors resemble a shack straight outta Khao San road, with the blue pink lights, quick service and great food. Little Thailand on its own. Food:Green curry - literally as authentic as they come. Simply can't believe you get this in Rotterdam!Chicken in leaves - just about the best chicken starter I may have ever had. Simply heerlijk!Sticky rice with Mango - brilliant again. Great way to finish.

A classy Chinese restaurant situated in a side street near one of the main boulevards in Rotterdam. We took the Peking duck option consisting of 4 courses. All were very tasty and portions were of the right size. Services provided by the staff is professional and correct. It's not your average Chinese restaurant! Recommended.

Among the ramen frenzy with restaurants like Miso, Tanuki, ... is Hinoki in Rotterdam a hidden jewel. Of course you have to queue but it is all worth the waiting time. Once inside the succulent, hot, aromatic broth assure that you are at a good place. My favourite during lunchtime!

Original and fresh food. Dishes with wine pairings : just perfect! You don't eat common asian food, you just discover new flavors. The atmosphere is classy and people really kind. Just close your eyes and trust the Chef! My best asian food experience so far :-D

Vietnamese eatery with takeaway food. Real Vietnamese people and Vietnamese cook who prepares all also as fresh as possible. Everything is made in an authentic way. The meals here are rather too much than too little.
We really like to visit this modest small restaurant, located at the Botersloot in Rotterdam, only steps from the famous Markthal. This time we had a late lunch, consisting of a delicious roasted pork and rice dish and a large pot of tea. This restaurant is run by delightful people from Hanoi; the restaurant is appointed simply, don't expect white linen and silver table ware, but the food is great and real value for money.

Chinese fusion kitchen UMAMI by Han Rotterdam is a modern concept where guests can choose for a quick lunch or an extensive 3 course menu with 6 sharing-dishes per person. The fresh ingredients, light dishes, wide variety of flavors and tea-pairing are a
Wanted something with a bit of heat on a cool evening and we found this pace in the upper floor of the market. The portions were big. The noodle and rice bowls were well seasoned and fresh. The service was nice and friendly. It was a good value for the price.

What can you say; you need to book weeks, or even months in advance. It's so popular because it's so special. Chef Yamamoto combines traditional Japanese cuisine with local dutch ingredients. He investigates and researches the best of both worlds. Not always with outstanding results but always an exciting experience. And then you can get a sake, directly imported from Japan, to match most every dish. The only downside, you can't get in on a spur of the moment..
