We came here for breakfast and I got the Sunrise bowl and my girlfriend got the Acai bowl and both were delicious. The owner/staff were all amazing and we will definitely be back while in Arugam Bay. Good jams on the speakers as well. Keep up the good work man

Our canteen, and many travellersâs one I guess. First the vibes is great the people working here or simple and friendly. Their food is great and tasty and they keep fair prices, what a rare gem in Arugam bay. The buffet is fantastic and the breakfast delicious with big quantity. You never leave with empty stomach. An advice donât look further and make it your canteen, supporting people who respect their customers and make a point to do quality food here is important too. We left earlier and could not say bye so I enjoy this review to say thanks to all the team for the nice job they are doing.

This place has average food in a very dirty kitchen and tools environment and with the only objective to get as much money from you as possible. Their "clean" glasses for water smelled like crap. We ordered a seafood platter for 2 and we were given a small platter with a couple of fish and squid pieces and 95% of crab shells. It was supposed to come with salad and fries and we were given only a tiny portion, definitely not for 2. For quite a big price. We then ordered extra portion and they charged an unreasonable price for it. They did not inform before and they chose to bring the big (more expensive) platter instead. Staff was arrogant and dishonest.

We ate here after positive TA reviews and were not disappointed. The curried fish was delicious and accompanied by Dahl, pumpkin curry, eggplant curry, coconut samba and pappadams. Serving was very generous and we opted to share the meal. Waiting time for the meal was long, but as they cook it while you wait this was not unexpected. Dessert was âbountyâ ice cream- vanilla ice cream topped with freshly grated coconut and cocoa. Very reasonably priced. If you want a table donât go too late the place is only small and we saw several people turned away.

We âtreatedâ ourselves for one night in this nice looking restaurant with little tables on the grass and sand overlooking the ocean. We had the rice and curry and the mango chutney prawns. I have to say the food was really nice and tasty but I have to admit it is pricey. 600 for a beer is a total rip off. Also they did not have the entire menu neither. This place has potential but should definitely review their prices especially for their drinks. I recommend it though for a little treat one night.Thank you, as our menu says sometimes we have to alter dishes because we only use local seasonal stock. Glad you enjoyed the food. 600 for a beer is standard in many places in Arugam.

Came in for lunch and were not dissapointed. The beef burger was extremely succulent and baked to perfection. The coronation chicken was very flavourful and delicious. We decided to also have some battered calamari which very noticbly fresh, like everything on the table for that matter. The mango milkshake was ok.

Generally I have found the hotel reviews on TA to be fair. However, I have followed recommendations for restaurants on TA and have yet to have a good experience!We were attracted to Better Taste not only by the excellent reviews on TA but also by the alluring display of fresh fish and the dramatic flaming barbecueLess said about the decor and tableware the better. Friends said drinking glasses were not clean and they did indeed smell very fishyWe ordered two grilled whole fish and 2 portions of prawns. The dishes took ages to be served. Could not see the point of the barbecue. Fish was cooked in the kitchen and wrapped in aluminium foil and paced on the flame - so no barbecue flavour could be imparted. Whole fish was meaty but overcooked,dry and overpowered with flavourings. Prawns average but again overpowered with flavouringWe know that at the present time restaurants and hotels are struggling in Sri Lanka due to the ongoing security situation .We were told that on the night we were there staffing was under strength - so we would probably give this place a second chance if we are in Arugam Bay again

We were a group of 6 friends and had a nice stay at this hotel, rooms are clean and staff is nice! If you eat at the restaurant for dinner, then I would recommend you to eat fresh fish!
