Iâve been traveling in Sri Lanka for more than a week. It has been an amazing culinary experience and I love the food here, but to say the least, it is neither light nor very kind to your stomach. So Iâve found this place called Lettuce & Cabbage where apparently they serve fresh vegetables and salad. Great, just what I need. Weâve found it, right in the middle of Haputale town, conveniently located. The design was modern with western influence. Not my cup of tea though, but well who cares if the food is good.Well, I couldnât say it wasnât, but it was certainly very bland. I ordered my long expected salad, just to see arriving a small plate with a ¼ tomato, a few onions and a salad leaf. At this moment I felt stupid, while my friend in a front of me was enjoying some fried noodles, quite basic but certainly more fulfilling.Hungry, I went on to order another âlightâ (but not cheap) option, the vegetable soup. This time came a ¼ a instant noodles with small streaks of carrot swimming in half a liter of water. Desperate for some calories, i quickly drank it up and left to the counter to pay the (hefty) bill.Fortunately was across the street a local food joint where I bought another piece of greasy but fulfilling takeaway food that allowed me to have a proper dinner, finally.So no, I wouldnât recommend this place unless you are ready to order four times the same meal in order to be filled up. Ate here with 2A/2C for lunch. Had wraps/sandwich and a pizza. Friendly staff. Fresh and delicious food. Highly recommend.

Indian summer is very close to Gregory Lake. Well laid out with a sit out facing the lake. The restaurant seemed to hv a good turn over of clients. Food was very tasty. The chicken kofta curry was excellent. Well worth a visit.

It's was a my holidays I also choose this hotel ones a year this is my 7th visit. I love this place weather is owesome I love 16 to 18 suddenly in the night becomes very cold like 8 to 9 but we are in the room. The arrival they keep potu the Tamil tradition and warm welcome with tea. The the staff is very nice and friendly specially captain Nuwan doest a great service to our room sending morning tea and evening tea.with short eat and cookies to the room. The night the food is buffet and you have weare long pants real gentlemen style. The food is owesome pleanty of variety to select.and also the b.fast is super and we stayed 2 nights and we check out the chef prepared sandwich for to take . It's a lovely place to relax and enjoy with family. I will recommend this place. Note you have to book in advance alleast before 3 months if not it always full.

I have visited this place with my family for dinner, later only I received a surprise birthday cellabration by my family.Food is super awesome, service is excellent, and staffs are friendly. More than anything a big thank to the owner Mr. Dickson, actually I was waited for a tuk tuk which was never arrived! But Mr. Dickson left is coffee on the table and came to drop us at home. I never experienced such a awesome service by anyone, they are ready to go above & beyond! I really recommend this place without any hesitation.

Just as the name suggest. Grand place. Lovely ambiance. We took recommendations of Dias who served us beautifully throughout the dinner.Tried the Mix Platter, Grilled Tiger Prawns, Chicken Curry, Fish and Beef which were absolutely yummy. Loved everything about the place.Would definitely suggest everyone staying at the Grand Hotel to dine here!!

Great little restaurant with friendly staff great ambience . The food was amazing and I had the best cheese Kothu. We where entertained with fantastic live music . All in all a great little evening. Highly recommend.

We went to the family run restaurant twice during our stay. The food was great, we had different vegetable curries, fish and chicken. The "spice level" was perfect for our european tongues ;-) Everybody was polite and very sweet. Communication was easy. Strongly recommended!
