Finding a reasonable sit down Chinese restaurant was becoming a chore. Fortunately, Trip Advisor made it easier. First time here and we ordered from the prix fixe, all of our food was pretty damn good. Soup, appetizer, meal and ice cream $20 each, not including beverages and tip/taxes. Today I would call that reasonable. People were nice, server was friendly, beverage refills quick. Sitting area was very clean and modern, looked newly renovated and tastefully done. Will be back. And yes I would recommend!
Authentic sushi place with great service and presentation. My husband ordered the lunch special w/ sushi rolls - everything was fresh and looked great. I ordered chicken pad thai, it was also really good. We didn't think a place in this location would have such high quality food but it does . I would go back again.
We moved to Long Island over 20 years ago and luckily found Ching Lai not long after. Then place doesnt look like much, and there are only five or so booth tables for customers who want to eat in, but man oh man, the food is the best! Try the General Tso shrimp- you wont be disappointed. House special Lo Mein is another of the families favorites. We actually tried a few other restaurants in the area, but no one ever lived up to Ching Lai- Call in your order and Jenny will be happy to have it ready for pickup in less than 30 minutes- delivery is also fast if thats your preference. For my family, including the now grown kids, this is our 1st choice for best of take out! Thanks Ching Lai, and keep up the good work!

We had not been here for awhile. We use to think it was good for the price. No so anymore. The choices at first glance seem the same, but the quality is definitely lacking. There seems to be a definite downgrade in the ingredients used. Even the sushi is less varied and certainly not as tastey. The ice cream machine was not working. The other dessert choices are average to poor. The entree choices just did not measure up for any positive comments. The restaurant itself is also beginning to look a bit run down, and not as clean. Not sure we will be returning.

Went to this on a recommendation from another recommendation. Something must have gotten lost in the translation because it was not good. The atmosphere was dreary, the sushi was too warm and worst of all they don't serve cocktails. For an appetizer I ordered the Crab Salad and it was drenched in mayo. With all the fabulous sushi places on Long Island, I would skip this one altogether.
