Katirkāmam) is a pilgrimage town sacred to Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and indigenous Vedda people of Sri Lanka. People from South India also go there to worship. The town has the Kataragama temple, a shrine dedicated to Skanda Kumara also known as Kataragama deviyo. Kataragama is located in the Monaragala District of Uva province, Sri Lanka. It is 228 km ESE of Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Although Kataragama was a small village in medieval times, today it is a fast-developing township surrounded by jungle in the southeastern region of Sri Lanka.

Very friendly staff, breakfast and dinner were included in our stay here. Very nice Sri Lankan Rice and Curry, made by the chef here. Breakfast was substantial, including a very tasty pancake. Lovely atmasphere overlooking the garden where they grow some of their own vegetables and a view to the pool.

If you are looking for good food and fair price in Tissamaharama this is the place to go. I highly recommend it, I didn't have good experiences in the other places, so I would return only to this one. The owner is really friendly and dedicated.

The food at this restaurant was beyond exceptional! For dinner my husband ordered the fish curry and I ordered the chicken curry, our friends chose western dishes and all were absolutely delicious. The attention to detail was above & beyond expectations! The Sri Lankan breakfast (which throughout Sri Lanka has to be ordered the night before as it takes time to prepare), was fantastic! For the first time during our 10 trip to Sri Lanka we were given Sri Lankan bread and it was so fresh and soft. I usually don't eat much bread but I had 2 slices and wanted more!!!

We ate here on a lonely planet recommendation and weâre not disappointed. The seafood was fresh and delicious. We had calamari, salad and white rice and vegetable curry and rice, this was more than enough for us, but Niroshan gave us buffalo curd and kurakkan for desert! He was a wonderful host and even provided a complimentary tuk tuk ride home. If you are staying in Tisserera you must give this unassuming restaurant a go.....

Our driver stopped here on our way to yala so we could have lunch. We ordered vegetable fried rice and vegetable curry. All i can say is the chef is a great cook The food was perfect. Would highly recommend stopping here for food and the prices are very reasonable.

Excellent dinner at beautiful and cozy place! Very friendly staff! Great place to watch animals. Great location! Definitely worth the trip from the village! Very flexibel with dinner times. We were not guests at the hotel but felt very welcome nonetheless! We went here to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. We've been before for appetizers, but this was our first time for dinner. The food is delicious!! Our waitress, Michelle, was friendly and attentive. We chose to sit outside, because it was a nice evening. Inside was air conditioned and a musician playing.
