We went for a curry here, the starters were really good although expensive. The main was not what I ordered it came like a korma very bland the chapatti and tandoori roti were the same we ordered without butter and came with butter also not cooked correctly still doughy.Hi Scott, I would like to apologize for your negative experience at our place. The Lantern is miles ahead of any other Chinese in Ballina, known from experience! Itâs so hygienic, the staff are so nice, the view is beautiful and the food is fantastic!! Iâve eaten here many times and will continue to do so. Portion sizes are also great! And donât be afraid to tell them if you are celebrating a birthday because they will really surprise you!

Myself and my work Colleagues often visit Jalan X2 on Fridays for lunch. We've never been disappointed. Food is extremely authentic, tasty, and you'll be quite full after, much like the Sligo Branch.The prices for the lunch menu are very reasonable. Having tried many of the options on the menu at this stage, everything is extremely tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive here also, making it a pleasure every time we go back.Looking forward to revisiting again very soonThanks Gerry for taking the time to review and for your continued support in jalan jalan. It was our second time visiting this Chinese Restaurant - it is an upstairs premises which the outside does not do any justice to the restaurant. They also serve, Thai and Japanese food too.. The décor is beautiful and the service is fantastic, the staff can't do enough for you especially the owner lady (I cannot think of her name) My husband had his meal served before mine and they were so apologetic that I had to wait a minute more, I didn't mind at all and it was so well worth the wait.. It was very fresh and tasty. The dry hot and spicy chicken seems to be a big hit..
