Where to eat Arabic food in Al Ain: The Best Restaurants and Bars

September 27, 2019 Roseanne Arnett

Reviews on Arabic food in Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Al Ain is the Garden city of this Arab nation, an oasis town located next to the Omani town of Buraimi. Al Ain is famous for its lively, bustling Camel Souk, attracting breeders and buyers from all over the UAE, including merchants and shepherds from the Al Rashaidah tribes. Other worthwhile sites are Jebel Hafeet, the second tallest mountain in the UAE; the Al Ain Museum and Fort, built to protect the oasis from the raiders when Sheikh Zayed ruled the Eastern Region; and the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort. The Al Ain Oasis is the biggest in the region with thousands of date plams.

Came on a recommendation. Turkish coffee was gorgeous. Not too strong and lovely hint of cardamom. We had the breakfast plate which looked stunning and tasted even better. The plate had falafel, black olives, labneh, hummus, eggs, foul, salad and bread. Lemon beef strips were also superb. Great place for breakfast or lunch. The sign says they open Saturday to Thursday 7am to 1pm, closed on Fridays. Ample parking right outside. If it were in Dubai, we would come all the time.

My wife and I spent the evening at the oasis Cafe. We had desert, coffee and shisha. The staff was extremely friendly, service was excellent, and the facilities were wonderful. There was nice outdoor lighting and the crisp evening air was wonderful. We had a martini, which was excellent and Turkish coffee which was even better. Prices were very good and we had a wonderful time. We will be returning to oasis Cafe and the other danat restaurants soon.

We stopped for lunch and had an 8 course meal of traditional Emeritus dishes. We enjoyed trying the various dishes. We had a salad, triangle curry vegetable rolls, a chicken with rice dish, a beef with rice dish, a lamb in a broth, a fish dish and a garlic squid dish. We finished the meal with tea and the round tried balls. It was nice to have a little taste of everything.
