We were given a recommendation to try this restaurant and we’re very happy we went. The filet and scallops with shrimp were excellent dinner selections. The coconut shrimp appetizer was one of the best we’ve ever had. We had a drink at the bar before dinner and the bar area is very beautiful. The restaurant was very busy that night, but we were treated to a beautiful table with a view of the area, and our server took great care to make sure we were happy with our meal. The manager stopped by each table to also ask if anyone needed more attention. We each had wine with dinner and the total cost was no more than we pay in our home town. We enjoyed our affordable and wonderful evening.

A go-to on our trips to South Lake Tahoe, this visit did not disappoint. We were seated quickly, and placed drink orders while perusing the menu (although we pretty much knew what we wanted!). The drink order included a new "adult" drink for us, the Hot Apple Jerry (Apple cinnamon infused Sailor Jerry spiced rum and American Born Apple Pie moonshine, topped with spiced apple cider), and a Skinny Margarita (Don Julio Blanco tequila, Cointreau Orange liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice and organic agave nectar). For food we ordered as appetizers the fried calamari; garlic chips with pesto sauce; small Caesar salad with added shrimp; and a small Pear and Walnut salad (Crisp Bosc pears, sweet candied walnuts and sliced red onions, tossed with mixed greens and topped with Gorgonzola cheese). They had a Gorgonzola dressing for which I opted, and it went great with the cheese in the salad! If you love blue cheese dressings, try the Gorgonzola dressing. For the pizza (yes, there IS more!) we ordered the medium sized BBQ Chicken pizza and for the kids a Nick’s Spaghetti Bolognese. I think that was all for 3 adults and a 4 and 1 year old! The food came quickly, with appetizers and salads at the forefront. The fried calamari was very meaty, not just batter, and not greasy at all. The Caesar salad had a generous portion of shrimps, large and plump and buttery! The pear and walnut salad is my favorite, although I do enjoy their Greek salad as well. The pears were plentiful and sweetly crisp, and the candied nuts added another layer of sweet crunch. The garlic chips are my version of a pizza, and best with the additional pesto sauce for a small charge. The BBQ Chicken pizza was loaded with toppings, and perhaps too filling after all the other dishes, but so good for leftovers that night or even next day. The kids meal was a healthy serving of pasta with shaved Parmesan on top, a nice different touch. As for the margarita and hot apple Jerry? Delightful, but I personally think the hot apple Jerry was better for a cool day - and even more better if you love cinnamon! Base Camp is a great place to relax, either indoors or on their large patio. The decor is cool, very woodsy-homey style, and the service is always spot-on; if they miss something, they quickly remedy. Our server, Corbi, didn't miss anything and met our changing demands with speed and friendliness. In fact, we are beginning to recognize faces visit after visit, a sign of good commitment on both the workers and business' part. So if you're in the South Tahoe area, try to squeeze in a visit to Base Camp - you'll love it.

Friday night as the sun was setting on Lake Tahoe it looked beautiful from Fridays Station. I ordered 18 year old scotch that I have been wanting to taste for a while. We started with Shrimp and Crab cakes, a very good selection. For the main course, my wife ordered Sword Fish. It was perfectly prepared. Hot, fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the Filet Mignon & Scampi. The filet was flavorful, hot and tender. The Scampi was good. The server was attentive and polite.Due to my wives cancer, she needs assistance to the restroom. When we came back to the dining room, a couple was being seated at our table. It had been cleaned off, including my scotch. I asked, " what's going on?" A voice behind me stated "we thought you skipped out!" And all eyes went to us. I've never been so embarrassed. My wife cried later in our Harrahs Hotel room. To avoid causing a scene, we decided to just leave. Staff apologized, offered us another table including some scotch. But everyone was still watching. Mistakes happen, but that hurt both of us.

My friend suggested this place through Google and it was an amazing start to our day. I got the white chicken chili omelette and we ordered a blueberry pancake to split. It was amazing. The service was friendly and helpful. They have herbal teas and my friend's hot chocolate was amazing! I am lactose intolerant so I only took a sip, but it made me wish I could have more. It is moderately priced, but well worth the money you pay. I would recommend this place as a must visit.

We were disappointed. We have dined at many different, high end steak houses and after reading the reviews thought this would be a great place for a birthday dinner.Service was sub par. Sat for over 10 mins. No water no acknowledgment from staff.Waiter came over and asked if we wanted a drink. I said water would be a nice start.Got a drink menu with the cocktail page missing.Waiter just seemed rushed and harried the whole night.Food was mediocre. Ordered crab cake appetizer. It was literally a single crab cake for $21. It didn't taste like a $21 crab cake. The french onion soup was good. The bread was fresh and warm.We each had filet with shrimp. The shrimp was over cooked and had so much hot spice on it I couldnt eat mine. Table side toppings on the baked potato was a nice touch but I'd rather have had better presentation on the whole plate. Filet was good. Bearnaise was good but cold.Onto dessert. I think the hype of this place is the table side cooking not the actual food because the banana foster was not good. I have had banana foster at different places and this was the worst I've had. I'm a dessert person and left most of mine behind.Maybe it was an off night but I wouldn't go back or recommend this restaurant. Also we started on the reservation it was for a birthday. No acknowledgment but tables around us had birthday recognition from staff.

Can you get closer to paradise?Brooks' Bar and Deck is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset, reasonably priced and tasty food and drinks. Only complaint is that our order incorrect but the staff quickly remade the order. Be aware that outdoor seating does have a few drawbacks. There are biting insects since you are next to the golf course and lots of wet grass.Thank you for sharing this great review! We appreciate your feedback and wonderful compliments about your dining experience at Brooks'. It is truly stunning to view the beautiful sunsets over Lake Tahoe from the deck! Typically we only eat breakfast here. But the new dinner menu was enticing enough to give it a try for dinner and we were not disappointed. First, our waitress, Shelly, was an absolute delight. The food, however, was a big surprise. I had the pork chop which was delicious. It was a huge bone in chop with a lovely smoky flavor served on a bed of Kale and fingerling potatoes with a nice compote on top. I also had the filet another night with a side of spinach. Although only 6 oz, it was flavorful and tender. The chicken breast dish was also excellent.Thank you so much for your lovely words! It was our honor having you as our guests and we can't wait to have you back soon! Sondra Richardson
