After a long day of hiking we were very hungry. The person who served us helped us make good choices and the food came quickly. The tacos and veg burger and salads were very flavorful. Sampled a couple beers before ordering. Very, very happy with our choice to have dinner here. I imagine the daytime view is very nice.

Delectable oysters en-route to Point Reyes. The scenery is gorgeous and serene. The oysters were fresh and of high quality. My favorite version were the bbq flavor, which were out of this world. A favorite place for locals. Please stop here and enjoy a relaxing time eating oysters and taking in the natural beauty of northern California.

We were pleasantly surprised by our dining experience in the Farmhouse Restaurant (it's right next door to the Deli). Service was attentive and prompt. Courses(4) were brought to the table with just enough spacing to enjoy our conversation before digging into the next offering. Entrees were delicious. But the apple tart/apple crisp desert was phenomenal! One serving,$8.00, was sufficient to satisfy our table of three, and we did not eat it all. The restaurant is a bit out of the way but well worth the 45 minute drive up Sir Francis Drake Blvd from the 101 freeway in Marin County.

On a day when the restaurant had only a few tables full, it took ages until greater and seated. Table behind me all were commenting on how expensive the dishes are. Yes it’s pricey but in line with others nearby restaurants in point Reyes and Inverness Station and Inverness. However, food quality was lacking. I asked for medium and got rare meat that was very chewy. Covered by limp arugula “salad” and accompanied by fries (hard to ruin fries - they’re fine). The former restaurant that occupied the space was much better. Having tried Due West I’ll not be rushing to return until menu and quality improves.Dear GPToakI am disappointed to hear that your experience was less than standard. Since the rebranding, we truly have taken the time and energy to carefully evolve and enhance our menus with the freshest fare in West Marin so it is unfortunate to hear it did not match your prior experience. Please know that we take comments like this seriously and want to ensure that we continue to deliver at the standard to match our price point (which yes, is in line with Point Reyes and Inverness locales). We do hope to welcome you back to Due West in the future for another opportunity to gain back your loyalty. Please do not hesitate to reach out directly should you want to book a table in the future and I'll be sure you have a better experience.EricGeneral Manager

Service was good. Our servers were very nice and accommodating, however, the hostess with long curly hair parted in the middle was rather rude and unfriendly. When we checked in, she was not friendly at all. We ended up sitting by the bar, but once table opened up before our main dishes came, we asked our server to be seated by the table that accommodated our family of 5. She bluntly told us “It’s so difficult to move”. I was taken aback from her rude response. I asked why, she simply brushed me off which pissed me off. Our waiter heard the entire incident and she said “It’s not that difficult, will take care of you!”. Really??? The table was just in back of us. So nice of our waiter for accommodating us! Anyhow, food was good but the price are way too expensive (see food pix). Oysters were $3.25 each while 4 broiled oysters cost $19. Good fresh oysters. Their salad which was just tomato cherries and romaine lettuce with their special sauce costs $17 which was in small portion. We ended up spending $220 for five of us. Fish BLT and grilled mushroom sandwiches were very good. Skip the rest but don’t forget the oysters.

Went there and had the turkey cranberry sandwich which had no taste, just bread turkey and cranberry sauce. My husband had the meatball sandwich which he said was really good, and my brother had the shrimp and avocado sandwich which he said was also very bland. I guess not too many choices around this area for a meal less than $10.

We were looking for a place to grab a small dinner mid-week and found Side Street Kitchen of course on the side street off the main. The restaurant presents nicely with a really cool mural on one of the walls. There is plenty of seating inside and outside and once you are seated and decide what you want, you go to the counter to place your order and pay for it.The menu is not large but has some unique items. We ordered the BLT with pork belly with a little concern as that combination could go down-hill really fast. However, it was a great combination providing a wonderful taste profile with a flavorful and large piece of pork belly, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato bathed in a tasty sauce. It was a surprise and was really good. We then had a caramel pudding with cream. I thought the caramel was home made as it you could actually taste the caramel and it was not overwhelmed with it being too sweat. Overall I was a really good and surprising meal. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu. Definitely worth a visit.

Dinner at 730 tonight with a half empty restaurant. The kitchen closes at 830pm. When we enter, the server is engaged in a conversation with a patron. After a few min, he gives us menus and tells us to sit anywhere, then he resumes his conversation with the patron. At least 10 min later he comes to the table to take our order. Our order included water for the table, which only comes after we wave him down. He provides 4-6 oz glasses of water. We wave him down again when the glasses are empty-- this time he gives us a carafe of water. 20 min after our order has been placed, we are served a luke warm medium rare beef burger and cold brussel sprouts topped with unmelted parmesan cheese. We had to ask for cutlery to eat our meal and he gave us 3 sets when we are a party of 4. We had wanted to order ice cream for dessert but he seemed to avoid our table, so we went up to the cashier to pay. He did move quickly when it was time to put the "closed" sign on the exterior.

This is a famous stop along the road by now. Great place with homemade cheeses that are high quality, a good selection of various ice creams, some fun gourmet food shopping and a stylish women's clothes store. A really fun stop and while you can pick up a picnic here- there are quite a few good restaurants next door and across the way.
