Brother’s Fish & Chips

We stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner. Great online reviews, but when we pulled up, we almost started looking for somewhere else to eat. The "curb appeal" of Brothers is quite deceiving. Unpainted door frames, different fonts on each sign, and what appeared to be a chest freezer sitting near the front door. Thankfully we went inside and had the most delicious meal. The food was fresh, creative and delicious! Service was excellent too! Because the meal was fantastic, we decided to have dessert as well and that was equally impressive. What a great find! So glad we decided to go inside!!

Dd's Diner

DD’s calls itself a diner. The building was once a diner that had been empty for years. However this is much more upscale than the average diner. Imaginative menu, talented chef, and prices a bit higher than one might expect from a “diner”. Still, worth the prices imho and very much worth a visit.

The BoatHouse

Reviewed By traveltime841

I was looking for a seafood restaurant in Ossining near the railroad station for lunch after completing a several mile hike on the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail - using TripAdvisor, I narrowed it down to Boathouse and 3 Westerly then selected Boathouse based on the food reviews. And the reviews were spot on - the food was indeed excellent! I was a bit skeptical of the meatless quinoa chili to start - but it was very good, and hit the spot after a long hike on a cold morning. You know the seafood is fresh here when I couldn't order the salmon because they had not received their morning delivery - so luckily they had a filet of sole special instead with tender asparagus - everything tasted awesome! While the view of the river and Palisades is pleasing, it is a bit unfortunate that the parking lot is where it is - but given the land available to them, they clearly had no other choice so just lift your head up an extra foot to remove it from your focus. Thanks to Brian for the great service!

Carvel is carvel. With pre-formulated product not much can change between stores but this one gets an extra star for the nice kids that work there and available outdoor tables to enjoy your treatDon't forget that Wednesdays are 2 for 1 sundaes and that on 4/27 you get a free small cone from 3p-8p, but remember to leave a small tip in the jar for your hard working server

Had a combo platter with chorizo sausage and brisket. Came with two sides, I had choke and coleslaw. Child was okay, coleslaw was bland. I didn't care for the chorizo as i must be used to a different flavoring. The brisket, however, was great! I had leftovers for lunch the next day and it was still nice and moist. They had a huge selection of craft beers, but the bulk of them were high alcohol content and I'm not a fan of paying $10 for a beer, no matter how quirky it is. It's good beer, just too expensive.Overall, food prices were reasonable. I will go back.

We are locals and always try to support neighborhood restaurants. This was our 3rd visit and the food continues to be outstanding. Last night I tried the new Vegan + Quinoa burger and LOVED it! My wife had the special salmon tacos and she also loved them. We generally eat at the bar and the bartender last night (Jim?) was attentive and very knowledgeable about the beers and food menu. The crowd at the bar around 6PM is a bit older (50-70) but very friendly. The music however, is all wrong for this crowd. I mentioned this to one of the owners last time we ate here, but that seems to have made no difference. Seems to me, the 6-8 PM crowd, which granted is older, might enjoy some music other than head banging rock. Classic rock, which is easy enough to put on, would make my experience here perfect and move my 4 stars to a 5.

Fish was under cook, dinner was a little bigger than the appetizers same fish dinner was ordered by two people and looked very different, even tasted different. Crabs dish had more butter than crab. Fish with mac and cheese was very soggy. Maui Maui had one seasonings on the top portion and another seasoning on bottom portion and was not completely cooked.

Croton Colonial Diner

Reviewed By Andrew S

We were on our way to see the Great Pumpkin Blaze and we were early so we were looking for a place to eat. The Colonial Diner was right on the way in.We were started fresh baked bread and butter on the table. This place had a great selection of home style food and it hard to decide . My wife had a Liver and Onion dinner with a tossed salad and Greek lemon soup and dessert included with the price of her meal. I had grilled corn beef Reuben sandwich that was literally stacked with cornbeef. My son is only 8 and stayed safe with a grilled cheese sandwich with fries. The restaurant had Plenty of staff, Service was quick and friendly and they had very reasonable prices. We have spent more going out for pizza. The three of us ate for under $45. None of us left hungry and we all agreed we would return the next time we’re in the area
