It is the most populous city in Pakistan, and third most populous city proper in the world. Ranked as a beta world city, the city is Pakistan's premier industrial and financial centre. A visit to Karachi will be incomplete without having having food at Kolachi. An ambience to savour with waterfront views and a culinary fare simply royal. Hard to choose but all the chicken and mutton fare are exceptional. I would recommend the fluffy roti paratha to go with any of the gravy dishes. One suggestion, please make prior reservations as it is really crowded during weekends. Service is brilliant.

Local taste of barbeque. Of course very spicy and hot. Kebab is cooked as “well done” most of the time they don’t ask how you like it.

The restaurant's innovative title is an Urdu phrase meaning a "dark horse" or "hidden talent" which becomes evident once you pass through the nondescript entrance and are transported to a typical eatery of 1960's Karachi replete with white marble table tops, old-style wooden chairs, dated framed photos and archaic open electrical wiring with the iconic round, black "click-on" switches. The elaborate menu offers a mouth-watering variety of desi soups, starters and entrees. On the recommendation of our server, we ordered the crispy hot prawns which featured crunchy fried prawns (minus the "oiliness") on a bed of flaky red chilly shells - very, very yummy! We followed this up with the Mutton Khara Masala which too was superb - the mutton in the form of juicy, tender chops were inimitable! All the while, we were plied with perfect, piping hot naans! Unfortunately, all that good food, didn't leave any space for the shahi tukra / gajjar ka halwa desserts ... which we preferred to leave hidden, to be uncovered another day! Service was fast and courteous - not a false note anywhere (a bit pricey though)."Chupa Rustom" is truly a hidden treasure which, I am confident, will very soon be discovered by local gastronomes as positive word of mouth spreads throughout the city. Dear Veer, Thank you for your valuable feedback! We hope to please you time and again!!
