What to do and see in Zaragoza, Aragon: The Best Tours

April 13, 2022 Madelene Haan

A rich blend of the historic and modern, Zaragoza sits on the banks of the Ebro River. Stroll in the center of town near San Miguel's pedestrian ways or around the Plaza de los Sitios, where you find boutiques, markets and souvenir shops. A center for gastronomy, Zaragoza offers food and drink for every budget and taste. But tapas is a must! In 2008, Zaragoza hosted the International Exhibition; the Water Tower, Bridge Pavilion and River Aquarium show off of the city's avant-garde architecture.

It was a cold evening in Zaragoza but we made the best of our stroll through part of old town and “el tubo”. This is a great way to experience the culture of the city and we loved seeing people out enjoying the holiday with friends and family. We enjoyed tapas at an excellently curated list of places with great wine choices. We also had a chance to make our own selection at a few places which I really appreciated. Highly recommended tour! Jorge shared his love of the city and gastronomy with us and left us with some tips of more places to explore - which we will!

There were five in our group that went to Montserrat and Torres Winery. We were picked up on time as promised by a couple who were driving a very spacious and clean Mercedes van. The guide was very informative on our trip. We went to the Cava first and then to a great lunch at a very local restaurant before going to Montserrat. The whole trip was very enjoyable and our host/guide made the excursion a real pleasure. I would certainly book again with Soberti Transfers and Tours. Our trip was in late November with great weather. Our trip was booked under the name McCabe.

10:00 DAYTIME I propose an adventure through the southern steppe of Zaragoza, traveling through very peculiar landscapes and above all, full of life! It is a simple itinerary, but the difference is that the itinerary is only one way - just like the bicycle - the objective of this experience is to learn to identify flowers, shrubs and birds. On the surface, the surroundings of Zgz, except for the groves, seem hostile, inhospitable and almost lifeless ... but nothing is what it seems. There are ravines with water, with so much vegetation that it is impossible to pass; there are pine forests, cliffs, some maple trees, mastic trees ... 20:00 (NIGHT, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) | Here everything changes, we share an hour of botany but from there, it is an orientation exercise through a place that at night is totally different. We make stops to listen to birds and bats.

Inclusions: Itinerary guide with identification keys and maps

Exclusions: Private transportation, Bottled water, Snacks, FRONT FLASHLIGHT (only in the NIGHT option), MANDATORY HELMET

Paddling down the Ebro is always advisable: It is a calmed, imposing river with amazing urban and natural landscapes, crowded with wildlife... but it is sharing this experience with passionated and very well informed local guides what makes it unforgetable. Every beach, island, bridge or riverine building holds a little bit of the history (and the present) of the relationships between Zaragoza and its river. Discovering some of those Heritage and Nature pills will change your perception of the city and the river (and even the cities and the rivers in general, because they all share more than we usually think). Wisely combining this learning opportunity with the fun of splashing, swimming, birdwatching or just relaxedly flowing down the Ebro River has made this kayaking activity to be #1 guided tour in Zaragoza. Reviews from our guests are not only our best publicity, they are also a great resource for our final goal: To bring the Ebro back into riverine people's life & hearts.

We went there with a school exchange group. An Armada of about 18 Kayaks. It was a wonderful, amazing experience!!! Los Ebronautas are great, everything was managed excellently and they are super friendly and really take care of everything. Approach the city on the river gives you a different, very special perspective. And the nature is wonderful. The Ebronautas really love what they do, you can't resist them. Go for it! You should not miss it.
