Hotel de Ville

Reviewed By JAYDenver

If you are entering Palace of Versailles the traditional way via the RER station one can not help but notice the Hotel de Ville on Avenue General de Gaulle. The architecture is great and there is a floral clock and a monument to the dead. It is a great photo opportunity! Throughout France it is a municipal building and not to be confused with a hotel where you can stay.

Collegiale Notre-Dame de Mantes-la-Jolie

Reviewed By Katieclem46 - Hamilton, New Zealand

Parked here in Mantes la Jolie to find coffee while en route to Charles de Gaulle airport, walked down the street and were blown away by the sudden sighting of this magnificent church. It soars above the rather mean streets below, and it stopped us in our tracks. With a long history during which it has been razed, rebuilt, sacked and bombed, its size is astounding, and the beauty of the interior matches that of the outside. There are amazing stained glass windows that are worth visiting for themselves.
