Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Russian: Ю́жно-Сахали́нск, literally "Southern Sakhalin") is a city in Sakhalin island, and the administrative center of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia. It was called Vladimirovka (Влади́мировка) from 1882 to 1905, then Toyohara (Japanese: 豊原市, Hepburn: Toyohara-shi)) from 1905 to 1946. Population: 181,728 (2010 Census); 175,085 (2002 Census); 159,299 (1989 Census).

House in a former Japanese administration building this museum displays both ethnographic and natural exhibits of Sakhalin Island, and history of the island. Interesting to those with a particular focus on recent Japanese history and peoples of the Sakhalin.

"Gorny Vozdukh" is one of the fastest growing ski resorts in the Far East. The unique location - in the heart of the capital of the Sakhalin region, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk city - allows guests be in the center of winter sports very quickly.
