Jeongok-ri Prehistoric Site

Bring a picnic basket and some comfortable walking shoes to spend and spend a good half day here walking the grounds to visit the sites, let the kids run around the fields or play in the playground. There is a spot where you can build-- with the help of a staff worker --your own prehistoric hut.
There is plenty of free parking and admission is also free. There is a concrete path that snakes around the site but feel free to walk across the fields if you like. A camera is not a must here but it wouldn’t hurt to have your cell phone camera ready.
Our favorite park of the day was laying in the shade and having lunch and letting the kids run around the grounds exploring the unique playground all the while artillery shells blast in the distance. And that’s the twist- this spark is a short 10 miles as the crow flies from the DMZ and about 15 miles west of a U.S-ROK training ground. The park is completely safe and these sounds are par for the course for the native population. I definitely recommend riding up to into these lush hills to spend a relaxing day with the family.

JaeIn Waterfall

Reviewed By pepsimark - Seoul, South Korea

There are a lot of Waterfalls in the world, some a lot larger and more voluminous, but for sheer setting and beauty, this is my go-to place when people visiting me want to see something of a secret jewel.
There is now a steel and glass viewing pavilion at the head of the falls, and if you aren't a vertigo sufferer, you can walk down the steep flanks of steps to the river bed. The steps are closed during very heavy rain but the view from the top is still open. The road to the falls runs along the Hantan River and passes endless beautiful rice paddies and is worth the journey itself.
A lot of people stop off on the way to or from to but grapes at the numerous grape farms on the way. This area is also famous for its prehistoric fossil finds and there is a Prehistory Museum in nearby Yeoncheon

Jeongok Prehistory Museum

About 2 hours north of Seoul exit Soyosan station line 1 then take a bus or can to the museum. The museum features a paleolithic site found during the 70's. Honestly, you're better going off to the National Museum in Seoul. This museum is rather small with few exhibits. I came up to go to the prehistoric festival which was held behind the museum. I would not recommend visiting this museum without any other plans in the area. It's not a bad museum, it's just not that interesting. The best part of the museum, clean bathrooms, fresh area around the museum.

Our family was visited this attraction for bath and jjimjilbang. This attraction was apart from downtown, so quiet and good. The facility was a little old and the parking area was enough. The bathhouse in there was not bad, and the water quality was good to us. The jjimjilbang in there was good, too. The most beautiful thing was quiet to us.
