There are several pools there. Some better, some worse. Ask local people for the best ones. Overall, it's a great place for relaxation. Just don't over do it in the water - it's not just ANY water! It has lots of minerals and stuff. Good for you, but may be bad too. Great to be there in the winter, jump from cold snow to the hot water!

Interesting monument. Lovers and newly married couples often put their love locks on the metal guardrails and the views are fantastic when it's sunny. Don't bother going if it's overcast or raining.

We so much enjoyed our time at this place!! Our Kamchatka trip would not have been complete without it. We did see how the locals used to live. Evgenija showed us the dogs, the authentic houses, explained everything about local folks art and dog-races in Kamchatka. She showed us the traces of the bear, we leaned all about the traditions of folks. Big Thanks for such a nice time! Kids tried there hands on ebony carving and drums plaing. We all enjoyed it really much.

I just came back from 10-days tour in Kamchatka organized by Lost World Tours in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Kamchatka is a great place to visit - volcanoes, hot Springs, amazing scenery and, of course, the bears. I have been to Alaska's Katmai National Park, and I have to say, Kurile Lake in Kamchatka beats it - we have seen 50-60 bears in one day there in this salmon season time. Lost World Tours is a serious well established company, and highly recommend their tours and services if you plan to visit Kamchatka. Just be aware that this is a wild and remote place, so you need to manage your expectations - if you are a 5-star hotel type, Kamchatka is probably not a place for you :-)

Another kamchadal pearl not far from Petropavlovsk. Starting in pinechevo hut, with the lovely ranger Yuri and continue from there up the o the pass and down into Nalychevo valley. In the valley it's possible to climb on Mountains or take some time to relax in hot Springs. You can view the tarmarine field, a hot spring bubbling from 200m all the way up and more. Possible to buy things in the camp, a bit pricey. Also possible to stay in a room or dorms in the camping. From there if weather allows its possible and recommend to continue to Avachinsky pass, and after take the road to Avachinsky volcano.

A part of the day helicopter tour, we visited this along with the Valley of Geysers and Nalychevo natural park. The nature is stunning, there are many mini springs/geysers in the making and it's a lovely walk along the Caldera. You will be accompanied by an inspector of Ministry of environment as there are bears living there.

A really nice, interesting museum. There is a lot to see & there are lots of artifacts spanning the history & culture of the Petrapavlovsk & Kamchatka region. It's a steep walk up an outside path to get to the entrance & when inside its easy to move around. Photos & video are allowed, there is a place to leave your coat & other items, plus there are toilets. The Petrapavlovsk museum is worth a visit.

Our cruise ship stopped at Avacha Bay. It took half a day to clear customs. Then we took the tender boats to the port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, it’s not a big town. One side is a residential area, and the other side is a commercial area. At the commercial side, there is Peter & Paul monument, and Lenin Square, a little further down is the theatre. People were standing there for the show or meeting people. I don’t know their language. Otherwise maybe I will get a ticket to enjoy a show.
There are 2 souvenir stores. One is on Leninskaya, on that street we saw a tiny orthodox church there. It's worth to go in for a look. The other souvenir store is on Sovetskaya, that one is bigger. I love their handmade souvenirs; unique and nice.
Happy Travelling!

Karymsky Volcano

Reviewed By slawin_62 - Sayanogorsk, Russia
