Yongmunsa Temple

Reviewed By 590jhl - Seoul, South Korea

This is a temple in Yongmunsan Mountain. Unlike other temples, this is very commercialized like a tourist site. But, the trail to the temple is really peaceful and it has an amazing ginkgo tree. Good for a day trip from Seoul especially during fall foliage season. - This temple is accessible through Yongmunsan Tourist Site. So, visitors have to buy tickets(2,500 won). The front gate is about 15 min walk from ticket office and the main temple is 30~40 min walk from the front gate. - The way to the main temple area is a chance to feel the nature and quite peaceful. - When we visited in early November, the fall foliage was in the middle of season. Really beautiful with yellow and red colors. - Main temple area is not that small nor that extensive. It doesn't take much time to look around. But, the old ginkgo tree which is more famous than the temple is must-see. - Not many hills nor stairs. Beloved by many seniors and entrance is free for them. - There were very few foreign visitors.

Dumulmeori

Reviewed By luvholiday9 - Singapore, Singapore

I went in Nov 2019 during my solo autumn trip.. it is about 1.5h away from Seoul and connected by the gyeonggi-jungang line. Yangsu station is nearest to Dumulmeori however I was visiting bukhangang railroad bridge before that so I alighted at Ungilsan station instead and took a slow leisurely walk over. Dumulmeori is iconic for beautiful scenery esp the place where 2 rivers meet behind the frame. Very good place to relax and take photos however it can be quite crowded. There was always a queue to take photos at the frame. I was there in autumn and the weather was perfect for walking. You can visit to Semiwon garden which is nearby too.

Semiwon

Semiwon is a lotus garden with many lotus flowers in summer. Great day trip from Seoul. - The location is about 15 min walk from Yangsu Station(Gyeongui-Jungang Line). Very nice one day trip together with Dumulmeori. - Admission is 5,000 won. I think it's very affordable comparing to other attractions. You have one chance to escape and come back. So, I recommend starting from main entrance and escape through rear entrance to see Dumulmeori. - There are lots of lotus flowers in summer. Avoid early morning and evening when they close leaves. - It's a huge garden to walk around. You can enjoy them for 2~3 hours slowly. - There's a foot bath with cold water. We loved it. - They sell foods and souvenirs using lotus and other things. - No need to be afraid of mosquitos. We didn't see any.
