From the moment I contacted Myanmar river cruises Chau Dinh :) could not have been more helpful. She was always quick to respond and very dedicated to helping me in any way. We met our guide at Yangon Central Railway Station on platform 6. I think he should have met us in front of the station as we had other people helping us to get to Platform 6. He seemed to speak English well, but we soon discovered that he spoke so fast and mumbled which made it very hard to understand or even want to. We then took the train for 5 stops to see a local market. Our guide just walked in front of us with very little explanation. It was a very busy market but we had seen many markets like this around Myanmar. Then he took us to a local restaurant and we were served some traditional food. We were happy to experience some of the food but he didn’t explain whether it was safe too, so we asked and he mumbled a yes. While we were at the restaurant our guide spent his time on his mobile. After this we took a bus back to downtown Yangon. This was a awful experience. We weren’t sitting together and nothing was explained about the journey, it was filthy and people were pushing, spitting etc. Also it took an hour as we were mainly sitting in traffic. Would not recommend this tour at all. We are experienced traveller’s and have had many local guides, caught many local buses, and eaten at many local restaurants around Asia and the world and have enjoyed all of them. Unfortunately we did not enjoy this one !! We

A dear friend Alex gifted me with this online cooking class. I included my sister and her daughter and yesterday at this time, people in three countries cooked an amazing meal with Marc. We had fun together, learned a lot - and ended up with a delicious meal that we will surely make again! This is highly recommended for anyone who loves to eat and for those who want a break from Covid isolation ????

Kick off from the central Mahabandoola Garden where your guide will take you to the first stop – grilled fish barbequed over hot charcoal and served with lime and tamarind dipping sauces. As you amble up through the backstreets of Old Yangon on your tour, you’ll dive into a famous noodle house famed for its authentic dishes from Shan province.   You’ll start to see a marked difference in the dishes as you enter Yangon’s Little India. En route though the bustling neighborhood, you’ll make several stops to try hot, lightly spiced samosas, crisp dosas best dipped into a variety of pickles and curries and a famed Bengali sweet shop.   Your next stop on our Yangon tour is Chinatown, a vibrant district with a fascinating history. It’s not short of places to eat, but not all are made equal. You’ll make stops at old Chinese bakeries, 3rd generation soup houses, a lively tea house for bao buns and springs runs and much more. End with cold Myanmar beer and barbecued skewers along the famed 19th street.   *Sorry veggies, this one isn’t for you. We’re working on a meat-free Yangon tour which we hope to launch soon. **Vendors take time off too, so we can’t promise every Yangon food tour will be the same. Fear not, the night will always be packed with good stuff.

Inclusions: 4-hour guided Yangon street food tour , Explore both Little India and Chinatown , Food and drinks, Fully licensed (and foodie) guide , Refreshing Burmese drinks and bottled water , Tastings of the best dishes in the city , Yangon food tour limited to just 8 exclusive guests each day

We booked this tour 2 weeks before the tour date and we were really looking forward to it. What a disappointment! We attempted to get it touch with our guide/the tour operator many times using the information available on our tickets and on trip advisor without success. We just wanted to reconfirm our tour, get in touch with our guide and ask a few questions in order to be prepared. We wrote several emails and tried to call many times but no one ever answered us. In good faith, we still showed up at the meeting point on the due date... we waited... and waited... no one ever showed up. The phone number isn’t being answered to and no one answers the email, we felt cheated. We are fortunate enough to be staying in a hotel with an amazing staff who are currently trying to help us getting our money back... to be continued...
