We stopped here as part of a day trip to the mountains this past weekend. Saw the billboard on the highway and decided to stop on a whim. Really glad we did. We met Laura who is a co-owner and she spent time with us giving the history of the family and going through a quick tasting. It was a really enjoyable experience and we came home with two boxes of great products! I would definitely stop by here if you are in the area and interested in a fun and informative experience.

I've never been to such a welcoming parish. And even if you're not in the market for a religious experience don't miss the historic cemetery or the outdoor chapel and labyrinth.

Rarely in a small town like wilkes do you find a place like this. Lots of burger options and sizes. The fries are hand cut and you get a lot. If you're in Wilkes you need to try Dooleys!

Wilkes Heritage Museum

What a great find. Our day started out as a ride on the Blue Ridge Mountain but the day proved to be very rainy and foggy. So we decided to drive to Wilkesboro. What a fantastic museum with so much interesting history. Unfortunately we were on a time schedule that day. We were there for three hours and could have spend another hour. Our tour guide for the jail was a retired policeman. He was very interesting and knew his history. They had a great NASCAR display, old school items, old medical tools (ouch) just to name a few and many other great finds. This is well worth your time.
