Don't miss the chance to come to the beach and wander around. Take a walk down the jetty, see what you can find in the tidal pools or go play on the playground, ORRR park yourself in your chair and just listen to the waves and ZEN out.

Sherwood Island State Park

We are a couple with A 16 month who we wanted to bring to the ocean for the first time. We chose this beach as it was open to out of staters like us. It was easy to find and get into, easy to navigate once in, and an easy walk from the parking lot to the beach. The water was calm with some small waves, and while shallow, you could swim without going too far out. the beach was a very large area with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Some recommendations-wear closed toed water shoes-the sand is rough with pebbles and stones (my husband had keen sandal on and they were full of stones) and bring bug spray, we had a hard time with some biting flies. The bathrooms were open and had outdoor showers to rinse off and lots of changing stalls inside. Overall a very good beach and we would definitely go again!

The new renovated library is a real gem. We have been there several times, for special events with 200+ attendees, for smaller events with 20+ people, just dropping by to pick up a book or a magazine or to study. A great place for many different things .

Bring your own chairs, food, drinks and come for the wonderful music. Be aware of folks sitting around you so everyone can see. It's a wonderful place to sit, enjoy the music and hang with friends.
