Bigar Cascade Falls

Reviewed By Viorel_25 - Sibiu, Romania

Hidden in the Anina Mountains, Bigar Waterfall is truly spectacular. Its shape and plant carpet conquers anyone. The beautiful pouring of water over the moss carpet is a unique natural phenomenon in the world. Having the shape of a cone, the waterfall is about 8 meters high and has as its source an underground water source that drains on a limestone wall. There you have the opportunity to descend on a wooden ladder at the base of the waterfall or to admire it from a height on a bridge over the river Nera. You can take photos from many angles and discover indescribable landscapes. This is my second visit and I can honestly say that it is worth seeing.

Clocota Waterfalls

Been here with family on a warm summer day , it was a short walk from the parking to the waterfall but it was oh so worth it - there are a few benches there to sit and relax next to the waterfall if you want - it wasn’t as busy as expected but guess it was Wednesday and some people had work to go to - I think it was stunning and loved that it was so tall and clear as well - definitely recommend this place if you’re nearby

Beusnita Waterfall

This waterfall is bigger then Bigar waterfall and depend of the water quantity I believe is more beautiful. Also the trail is extraordinary...it is a very nice trip to this waterfall ...about 1 hour of hiking from the last parking place.

La Vaioaga Waterfall

Reviewed By fplalgo - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Located on the road leading to the Ochiul Beiului Lake, the highlight of the Cheile Nerei - Beușnița National Park, La Văioaga Waterfall is the ideal place to stop and rest for a little, watch the beauty of both the waterfall and the surroundings - trees, small crystal-clear lakes, rocks. We stopped here and ate the snacks we have brought with us. The waterfall can be reached via car, but the road from Podul Bei to it is bad and it's better - for both the sake of your car and for the views - to leave the car at Podul Bei and walk to the waterfall. It is a 40-50 minute hike on a very easy (since cars can also go) path. After it you can continue on the same road and in a bit over an hour you will reach Ochiul Beiului! No facilities available at La Văioaga, the closest toilets, drinks, food and camping are at the Valea Bei Trout Restaurant, which is approximately halfway between La Văioaga and Ochiul Beiului.

Izvorul Bigar

Reviewed By Viorel_25 - Sibiu, Romania

Bigăr Spring is a strong spring (hence the term izbuc), fed by an underground watercourse that crosses the cave of the same name in the Anina Mountains. After about 200m, the spring water (rich in limestone) flows into the Miniș River on a rocky threshold, forming a limestone tuff waterfall, which is called Bigar Waterfall.
