Going to the cinema is about so much more than watching a film. At Light House we try to create an environment of comfort and sophistication to deliver a unique cinema experience. Light House Cuba is located in Wellington's bustling Cuba street district. Nestled on Wigan street, across from Havana bar, Light House Cuba offers offers a unique and inviting atmosphere to escape the daily grind. Sit back, relax and unwind.
Although it's a little more expensive than the regular cinema, it's well worth the price. It's got a number of lovely screening rooms wiry comfy chairs instead of normal seats. You can also get coffee and tea from their cafe and take it in with you. The staff are attentive and kindly gave me a student ticket even though I only had last year's student id. Highly recommend, a cinema experience like no other.

We visited twice, the first time to stroll through the building (which is open to the public) to see its wonderfully decorated lounges and corridors, and the second to watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It's an old school cinema, the kind big pictures were made for with seating for hundreds, but modern upgrades in sound and screen. Comfy seats, stairs without railings so be careful, busy at the concession but quick to put people through. Bought tickets there ahead of show time.

The Roxy cinema is the best place in Wellington to catch a film. Excellent service, great choice of food and drink and comfortable seats. The best local cinema anyone could ask for.

We had a gift voucher so traveled out from Upper Hutt. We saw an early movie which we enjoyed with a glass of wine on comfortable seats. We were then going to find somewhere for dinner, but decided to try the Cafe. I had a lovely lamb dish that was very tender and my hubby had a lovely vegetarian salad. We did not expect table service and ordered and paid for dinner at the counter. A delightful evening.
