What to do and see in Weißgerber, Vienna Region: The Best Things to do

December 12, 2021 Weston Hennigan

In Vienna, the coffee house isn’t just a hangout: it’s an institution. Lingering over a newspaper with a pastry and a strong espresso drink is, according to UNESCO, officially a Viennese cultural pastime. Walk off your slice of Sachertorte with a self-guided tour of the city’s stunning traditional, Secessionist, and modern architecture, such as the Imperial Palace, the State Opera House, the Kirche am Steinhof, or the Kunsthistorisches Museum, an exercise in ornate geometry.

Escape Mission

Escape Mission- First room escape game in Vienna! Some of you may be familiar with so-called "room-escape" games, where the aim of the game is to escape from a room in 60 minutes with your team. If you are looking for something like that, "Devil's Mountain" is perfect for you. The other game of Escape Mission, "The Alchemist", is based on a similar concept except that the goal is to create the sorcerers stone in a laboratory set in the middle ages. Everybody can participate in the game above the age of 14. To be successful, you don't need any special knowledge, just be creative and search the whole room! The most important thing is to observe and explore the whole room very carefully. Everything in it can be a clue or hide a hint. For whom and for which occasions do we recommend the game? It is a perfect event for a rendezvous, team building, stag night, for adventuresome people and all those who like challenges. The game is language neutral and there is no need for any special clothing.

Our cooking evening at Andante was a real highlight of our recent European visit. We enjoyed an evening class just before Christmas and it was a fantastic experience led by wonderful host/chef Nabiel. We learnt to cook soup with semolina dumplings, weiner schnitzel and apple strudel and Babiel was great at involving everyone, encouraging us all to take part from stretching strudel pastry to crumbing schnitzels. Finally, we ate our delicious meal! Thoroughly recommended.

What a lovely outing! Andrea collected us at our hotel in her car. She shared her knowledge of the city and took us to the food market built on the river. It was very festive and we learnt about different cheeses and meats, and traditional Viennese vinegar. Andrea took us into her cozy home and taught us to prepare an apple strudel and sweet chestnut soup, whilst we sipped on some bubbles. Andrea emailed me the recipes of the food we made. She was at all times very professional and friendly. Her knowledge of Europe and culture in general was such a treat. I would definitely return!!

Kunst Haus Wien - Museum Hundertwasser

EXPERIENCE HUNDERTWASSER UP CLOSE: Art - Achitecture - Nature - Vision Two intriguing museums experiences await the visitors at the KUNST HAUS WIEN. The Museum Hundertwasser presents the world's biggest collection of Austrian exceptional artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928 -2000): his world famous paintings, fine art prints, tapestries and architectural designs. Here you can immerse yourself in his imaginative world of art inside and out - colorful walls and uneven floors in the interior, the artistic façade with tiles and color fields on the outside. "Tree tenants" grow from the windows, plants and flowers inhabit the rooftop and inner courtyard. In Vienna's first "green museum" one can sense Hundertwasser's visionary mind and experience his ecological engagement on site. Beyond that the KUNST HAUS WIEN is Vienna's premier house for photography exhibitions: changing exhibitions introduce the biggest names of photography to a wide audience.
