Weifang (simplified Chinese: 潍坊; traditional Chinese: 濰坊; pinyin: Wéifāng) is a prefecture-level city in central Shandong province, People's Republic of China. The city borders Dongying to the northwest, Zibo to the west, Linyi to the southwest, Rizhao to the south, Qingdao to the east, and looks out to the Laizhou Bay to the north. Its population was 9,086,241 at the 2010 census, of whom 2,659,938 lived in the built-up (or metro) area made up of 4 urban districts (Kuiwen, Weicheng, Hanting and Fangzi) and Changle County largely being urbanized.

I like parks! Parks in China can be quite beautiful and hold some interesting, if not surprising, features. While I originally went to Weifang to see the kite museum, this particular attraction was also well worth seeing, though I stumbled upon it quite by accident. It was so peaceful, so relaxing, as I strolled through this park one afternoon. Oh, and I was sure to take lots of pictures. Not all of us need constant activity to enjoy ourselves; some of us like the peace and tranquility of a park or garden and People's Park fills the bill nicely.

It brings some Disneyland moments and the copies of famous statues are alone worth the price of admission. The staff are friendly and helpful. As a 77 year old I was not interested in trying the various rides, although the merry-go-round looked safe enough. This is part of a large Fu Wah complex, hotel and Exhibition Centre It is strategically situated next to the Weifang Museum. The image that clinched this place for me was a worker carefully cleaning an outside park bench. Oh yes. Most of the signs are in mandarin and English

The museum is free, but you must show picture id before you go in and also go though a metal detector. The showcases have lots of interesting stories and kites displays. It was very interesting and I would go back again.

What a wonderful this turned out to be. We toured the whole wet land park in a small tour bus provided by the Park. The views across a lake were impressive as were the pagodas and foliage. The only drawback was the air force base with continual flights of fighters screaming ver head.

Definitely one of Weifang's most important and impressive heritage attractions. This compact, traditional Chinese estate somehow survived The Cultural Revolution and its architectural treasures and splendid scholar Gardens have been well tended and cared for since. It is well deserving of its national cultural heritage site status.

The village runs the park. Next door there is an incredible Dumpling restaurant, part of Jinbao Hotel What I like best is the 100 or so hammocks where you lie and look at the trees waving in the wind, and the blue sky and watch the happiness birds having fun. Magic. there is a small zoo with giant pandas and emus
Again, most of the visitors are Chinese. Many children and younger persons. Plenty for children to do. Good value for money
If you are over 70 remember to ask for a discount.

金宝乐园里面有东西，但是一些比较普遍的东西，门票五十元，没有优惠，进去看一次就不想再去第二遍了，毕竟价格比较高。熊猫很脏，藏獒的嘴冒着白沫，脏极了。去的那天刚下过雨，出来后满脚是泥

This park with very traditional Chinese architecture is a must-go in Shandong Province. The most impressive part of it is the kites museum which features a very good range of colourful paper Weifang kites which have made Weifang a uniquely globally renowned city. If you have your own tour guide or local staff of the park who are patient enough to explain to you during your short visit, you may be surprised by the detachable structure and design of many butterfly-shaped kites. That could be a major consideration for you if you happened to be a collector or such art pieces since portable butterfly-shaped kites are much more readily portable than you would ever imagine in the first place. Afraid of destroying the kite inadvertently on your way home? Just take a few colourful photos with these exhibits during your stay then. Besides, there are rooms for demonstrating some traditional ways of producing 2-dimensional wooden sculptures and coloured prints of Chinese-style pictures and a shop for selling paper-cut products. Such products with good colours and composition (as framed in a glass photo frame of 2 palms' size) sell for about RMB$50 each only. I thought I would still have the chance to see them again and buy one during the rest of my 5-day tour in Shandong but I proved to be wrong ultimately.

This is a new purpose-built village about 40 minutes by bus from downtown Weifang, built to highlight the arts and crafts of the area. We visited on a winter weekday and it was virtually deserted.
It is huge in area, with replica temples and outbuildings which are so-so.
It was only when we got to the back of the complex that it revealed its points of interest. There is an "artisan" street, where there are exhibits of the ancient crafts like kite-making, block screen printing etc. These were static displays when we visited , but I believe the artists and craftsmen demonstrate at other times - weekends ?
Some of the halls, displays and museums are hidden down alleyways, so you need to look carefully.
This complex needs people to make it work - artisans to demonstrate their crafts and visiitors to appreciate them. Perhaps this happens at other times of the year.

Disappointing cause it was CLOSED! Lock stock and barrel closed! Didn't even look like they had any exhibits on display. But oddly enough the museum offices in the back were open. Weird!
