Fluchthaus

This was absolutely great, the 4 of us had an amazing time even though we didn't make it till the end. Everything was in German, but the host met us in the beginning and gave us all the information we needed in English. It was all good laughs and thrills, and the people behind this was so friendly. Thumbs up, and a big thanks from Norway! :)

Flossenburg Concentration Camp and Museum

Reviewed By owai - Tauranga

At this site at least 30,000 people have died and up to 100,000 were interred here during WWII. In recent times factories have been removed from grounds and remaining original buildings made into a memorial museum. The atrocities that were committed her are described in a respectful way and without excuses. There is a huge amount of information and very effort has been made to tell both an overall story and the individual victims details. The museum has photos, stories, artefacts and is well displayed in original buildings. At the lower end of the site the crematorium is pretty much as it was found at the end of the war. Nearby is a huge mound of the ash from human remains. It is very sad, but to miss this site would be to miss an opportunity to at least begin to understand the horror of the camps and the environment in which they developed. Would not appeal to young children, but is set up for school groups etc. As appropriate for a war memorial there is no charge.

There are great views from up in the tower! The castle was only 2 Euro each to visit and is well worth it! There is also ice cream, postcards, and other cute souvenirs to purchase.

Alte Pfarrkirche

Reviewed By MarnaSak - Assis, SP

From the outside it looks like a normal modern church, but the inside, from the 12th Century, is overwhelming. Really worth a visit! Sadly we could only see the inside, and not enter, since the door was locked. Some of the previous reviewers said the church is open only during summer, now I sincerely cannot tell if by 'open' it means that you have access to the second (locked) door or if sometimes the inner door is also open. Anyways, really beautiful.

Hansel & Gretel

This is a fabulous place to come and learn about wine as you are enjoying a glass or two. Tony is a sommelier and very happy to answer all your questions about wine. You can order a sample for tasting, a glass of something you love, a bottle, or a case of wine. Some of the cases are the coveted original wooden crates! He can even order in specific wines that you may not be able to find. If you don't really know what you want, don't worry, simply explain what you are looking for. For instance a rich red wine, or a crisp white with floral notes. Then Tony will come up with a suggestion or two for you to try. It is really that simple. On top of selling wine they also carry a large selection of wine paraphernalia. They have wine decanters, pouring spouts, napkins, cute things to add to your corks and much more. Besides wine supplies they also have coffee cups and other intriguing items that will catch your interest.
The owners Tony and Silvia both speak excellent English. There are several small tables, and window seats you can pick from both inside and out. Also, in the back of the store is a wonderful area with a large table for a group get together. They also have bar Seating. The atmosphere is very nice with music playing in the background and happy conversations all around you.
Your wine will always be accompanied with a selection of crisp bread-sticks. I love them so much I tend to eat them all at once instead of having them between wines. If you are like me and get hungry then you can order food to be delivered from L'Italiano just a few doors down. At the end of the evening you will only have one bill to pay combining both your food and wine.
If you want a relaxing place to enjoy a Cappuccino or coffee you can get that here as well. They are both served with a little biscuit.
You can arrange for a wine tasting for a group if you would like to. Tony is excellent at pairing wine with foods. They also work with other local restaurants for multi-course meals accompanied with wine. You may have enjoyed their wine at Zoe over Valentine's, or at Genusswerk Bodega.
They take both Euro and Credit Cards. They do not take VAT forms. I have seen children there quite a lot. I highly recommend this establishment. Now, one word of advice. When you are looking for it look for the metal sign hanging out from the building or you may miss it.

Eisstadion Weiden

Reviewed By Anna W - Birmingham, United Kingdom

Went to the Aqua park on the sunny hot day, with 3 children aged: 2, 8 and 14. Pool's play areas are brilliant and suitable almost for any age group. While little one was playing in the baby area, older kids had fun on the slide, and adults could relax in the hot tube. Price is very affordable. Would definitely recommend this place and come back again.
