With a complimentary pick up from the island's ferry terminal at Matiatia Wharf, or from Oneroa Village bus stop if you're already on the island, you'll enjoy a "mini-tour" of the island en route to our site on Trig Hill. Upon arrival and welcome at our visitor centre, you will be checked-in, geared up, and readied for one of Auckland's most eco-friendly activities! Three 200m dual flying fox ziplines will fly you smoothly side-by-side with a partner, friend or relative down into a stunning tract of original and regenerating native 'bush' (forest). It's a scenic interpretive walk back to base, where you'll learn about local flora and fauna and the conservation of our spectacular natural environment. 10Am Ferry Ex-Auckland - Return 4pm Ferry. Spend a day with your local Maori guide exploring Waiheke Island from a Maori perspective. You will visit stunning landscapes and pristine beaches and hear the stories and history related to them. The tour includes a native bush walk where you will learn about traditional and medicinal uses of plants, history and significance of the pa site and a taonga puoro (musical instruments) demonstration. You will visit one of Waiheke's top vineyards for an optional wine tasting. Your guide will teach you about the harakeke (flax) bush and perform a flax weaving demonstration. View and learn about the significance of the marae and the Maori community of this beautiful island. Lunch is at a local cafe.

Lincoln Jackson

Tour guide Lincoln Jackson's 15 year working knowledge of the Waiheke environment has lead him into sharing the island and his knowledge with others keen to experience Waiheke's uniqueness. Lincoln's work has involved guided walks and talks with large groups, volunteer co-ordination, organising native tree plantings, tree nursery work, noxious weed management and pest animal mangement. Lincoln has also studied Maori Plant Medicine, Trees in the Urban Environment, and First Aid.
