We've ben here several times before but usually on a Sunday when they could not sell their beer this time we could do a flight ( split 4 ways along with 3 passport tastings) I enjoyed their wheat beer , my wife liked the tropical one, one of our friends really liked the IPA and the other loved the mocha monkey. I think this year anyway they also have the best wine in Waconia..just my opinion of course

Big Stone Mini-golf and Sculpture Garden

Reviewed By polkadots_eve - Minneapolis, Minnesota

After reading many reviews of local activities to get ideas for group activities when some out-of-town guests came to visit, we and our guests set off for a not-insignificant drive to Mound. During the drive I wondered if I had made a mistake but rest assured, it is worth the drive. The mini-golf course is 14 holes versus a traditional 18, but each one is so creative and unique that it is totally worth it. And after the mini-golf .... the sculptures! There are some really incredible and unique sculptures out here in essentially a field in the middle of nowhere. And after the sculptures, farm animals! Donkeys, goats, horses, cows!

Not to mention that the course and sculptures present numerous photo opportunities for anyone so inclined.

We are so glad we made the drive to try this and will absolutely return

The 4th Friday of every month is unlimited fish & chip night. Both are good, although if it's busy (like during Lent) the kitchen gets backed up and you'll have to wait a while to get a refill of both. If you're a fan of malt vinegar for your fish you need to bring your own, and be prepared to share with the next table. Lots of bikers stop here during the warmer months. Burky's holds about 50 people, has a good bar, and has a friendly atmosphere.

Lowry Nature Center

Reviewed By Erica C - Des Moines, Iowa, United States

This past weekend we visited the nature center and hiking trails twice! The indoor center space was clean, informative and had a nature program for children getting ready to start. The trails were well maintained and there were multiple to choose from. They looped around various lakes, pond and wooded areas. The interpretive playground area for children was very unique, fun and educational at the same time. There is also a butterfly garden!!!! Truly a gem hidden so close to the cities.
