This tour was perfect for our family. We wanted to go to Normandy but were not confident figuring out all of the trains to/from Paris so finding one that left from Paris was just what we needed. The weather was touch and go leading up to our scheduled tour date but Josef was in constant communication with us on what to maybe expect, if some things might be closed, what possible back up plans could be... thankfully we said lets just do and we are so glad we did! Josef was great, super knowledgeable and informative. It ended up being such a perfect day!

We were on a riverboat excursion and were taken to Strassbourg, so this canal ride was included. We enjoyed going around this absolutely lovely little town. It is so charming! You can see really well as the boat has glass roof. Thankfully, it was a beautiful day so you could see all the darling hpuses with their flowerboxes under all the windows..so pretty. I highly recommend not only the boat tour but coming to this town. It was one of my favorites on the whole trip.

We were staying in a vacation rental north of Lyon while attending the Women’s World Cup and had initially wanted to take a Beaujolais Wine Tour on one of the off-days. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a tour or private tour guide that wasn’t already booked. As a result, we moved further North and started looking at Burgundy wine tours. Luckily by-chance, we booked The Wines of Burgundy Day Tour with Pieter Smits. We had a wonderful tour with Pieter as we visited several villages, chateaus, and wineries. Not only were we able to sample some fine wines but Pieter also selected a restaurant where we had a great lunch. Pieter is very engaging and knowledgeable which helped make the tour very enjoyable. It's an experience I will always remember.

I would highly recommend this tour. Nick did a wonderful job of selecting the best wineries in the area for tastings and an education on French wines. Each wine maker shared the winery’s history and a bit on their wine making process. We started in the quaint town of Auxerre and made our way to the lovely town of Tonnerre with an excellent lunch on the way. The wine was great-easy to purchase along the way. Very manageable trip from Paris by train.

We booked a tour for three of us, including our 20-year old son. Patrick was a great tour guide & lunch host. He was amazingly informative and answered all of our numerous questions. The visits Burgundy Discovery created for us at the domaines were informative and varied and the experiences gave us an entry-level understanding of the vinification process and the AOC system. The serendipity was amazing. (As we drove by Patrick said, "this is a famous climat called La Tache.") It's amazing how these seemingly innocuous plots of land produce these amazing wines. "Oh, there's Romanee Conti!" Highly recommended for all.
