Vlieland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvlilɑnt] ( listen); West Frisian: Flylân) is a municipality and island in the northern Netherlands. The municipality of Vlieland has one major town, Oost-Vlieland (West Frisian: East-Flylân). It is the second most sparsely populated municipality in the Netherlands, after Schiermonnikoog.

It is nice to see the other side of Vlieland and the Vliehors Expres offers this option. We selected a busy weekend day and were disappointed by the many people that we allowed in the truck which made it a squeezed and uncomfortable ride. I would strongly recommend to reduce group sizes.

Op een van de hoogste duinen van Vlieland staat de vuurtoren. Vanaf dit punt heb je een prachtig, vrijwel rondom uitzicht over het eiland en de zee vanaf de zuidkant is het een hele klim langs een lange trap. Aan de andere kant loopt een pad met minde treden langzaam omhoog.

Bei einem Regentag lohnt es sich, hier trotz den Preisen zu verweilen. Als Familie "kurz" 20,- löhnen, und ab gehts.
Das Walgerippe ist mäßig interessant, für Kinder das Haie streicheln der Bringer!
Lohnenswerte Ausstellung über Strandgut, Inselflora und -fauna, 2. Weltkrieg usw.
Insgesamt kann man hier locker 2-3 Stunden kurzweilig zubringen. Und wenn die kids nicht mehr guttung - abs zum Haie streicheln schicken.
Tipp: Gutschen für einen 2. kostenlosen Kaffee im Magazin "Vlie-Trine" mitnehmen. Magazin gibts im VVV, dort sind noch weitere Gutscheine drin.

Vorige week met gezin, onder de bezielende leiding van chauffeur Kees Visser, de rondreis gemaakt in de Tuk-Tuk op Vlieland.
Normaal gesproken kijk ik nooit naar de stellage met allerlei folders, echter sprong diegene van de Tuk-Tuk eruit. Zeker met kleine kids die nog niet fietsen in combinatie met ouders die graag wat meer dan het strand en de lokale horeca willen zien, is de Tuk Tuk dé uitkomst.
Inclusief begeleiding verken je het gehele eiland ( van Posthuys - Duinkersoord ) in een privé-setting. Prijzen variëren maar zijn alleszins betaalbaar voor de tijd die Kees voor je neemt. Desgewenst kan je ook bv. de Kaasbunker bezoeken.
Kortom, wil je het eiland beter leren kennen ? Met toelichting van een bijzondere chauffeur met enorm veel kennis en passie over Vlieland ? Vergeet dan niet de Tuk-Tuk te boeken tijdens het verblijf!

The best en biggest bike rental of Vlieland

During a short family stay on the Island of Vlieland, we rented our bicycles with Zeelen.
The people were most helpful friendly and responsive.
Flexibility certainly is a big attribute here. Changing a bicycle for a different one was no problem.
Unfortunately their electronic payment system did not work at our time of arrival.
Their comment; no worries, just pop in when you are nearby and we will sort it.
SERVICE makes the difference and they got it.

This is a nice cafe to relax after a long walk over thebeach and/or the dunes. The cafe has a selection of special beers.

This is a nice, active activity to do for all ages. It is located within walking distance from the town centre which is ideal. The course itself is nothing special, it's just your average midgetgolf course. The owner was very friendly and it was cool because there was a small café on site inside the top of an old lighthouse. The midgetgolf was very expensive. It was £10 per person per round! Considering that there are midgetgolf courses out there that cost £2 per person per round, this was very expensive for an average course.

I booked 1 normal bike (6 euros per day) and 1 bakfiets (22euros per day) to bring sports gear to the beach but then due to the weather conditions we didn't need the bakfiets for our 4 day trip.
We asked to have only 2 normal bikes but the company refused to reimburse us the difference of the cost of the bakfiets aayjng it was there "policy" which was not made clear to me on their website or when I booked. Furthermore the management was rude and not helpful.
There are maybe 5 other bike rental places on Vlieland. I would recommend trying one of them that has more flexible policies and nicer staff.
