Air is so clean and fresh. One can see the high Mountains with large glaciers. There are many interesting places around the area such as the Rekom Shrine, the town of Mizur, the village of Ursdon where there one can walk up to the old cemetery with small crypts and towers set on the mountainside.

Walkable street with streetcar running down it. Restaurants and coffee houses abound. Rode streetcar all the way to the train station and back ending at the Armenian Church.

We stopped in and saw the Russia Orthodox Monastery, the monk who greeted us was nice gave us a short tour due to the construction work being done for restoration.

Very unusual style built for a millionaire from Azerbaijan around 1900. Very colourful and based on Egyptian style. I was able to enter the Mosque (headcover required). Interior was being renovated while I was there so there were scaffolding everywhere. Located in a beautiful location next to the river.

Большой аккуратный парк. Набережная, пруд. Здесь отдыхают и пожилые, и молодые, и совсем еще дети :-)
Позабавила манера юношей садиться на лавочки верхом :-) Зато лицом к сидящей рядом девушке :-)

Мы проезжали Архонский перевал на автомобиле. Нас вез местный житель из Владикавказа. Он нам много интересного рассказывал по дороге в Цхинвал. Обратно мы пересекали на автобусе. Вообще это опасное место, постоянно сыпятся камни на дорогу и снежные лавины могут накрыть

Отлично задуманный и очень скорбный памятник материнской скорби по семерым не вернувшимся с войны сыновьям. Семь лебедей улетевших от матери. Находится по дороге в Алагир. Раньше сюда возили школьников на экскурсии, сейчас тут редкие посетители.

There were paintings from the region showing regional people and other stuff like Mountains, we liked especially the paintings illustrating characters from osetian saga. We went to a book store around the corner and bought those stories (available only in russian).
