Martha's Vineyard Camp meeting Association (MVCMA)

The Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association is truly a unique grouping of small gingerbread homes in a storybook-like setting. This is an absolute must see when visiting Oak Bluffs. I strongly suggest that visitors read about the history of the MVCMA before visiting. It's quite an intriguing story and includes some unusual and interesting facts.

It took us three different buses to find this little gem. The bus driver dropped us at the bottom of the driveway and picked us up about 1/2 an hour later. Well worth the effort. Tiny little shop...kinda crowded. Unusual flavor combinations. Great chocolate.

Sail Away On Wing - Private Trips

Reviewed By jmacnc - Rock Hill, South Carolina

Let me first say that Diane seems very nice and knowledgeable. Our trip started fine and we got underway and sailed for about an hour when the sail broke loose. Diane sails by herself with no other mates on the boat and she didn't seem to know how to fix the sail. So we spent the rest of the four hour charter either trying to fix the sail or putting along under motor. Certainly not what I paid $300 for. I understand accidents happen but there has to be some sort of contingency in place if you are going to run a business. This was one of the of the expected highlights of our trip and turned out to be a major disappointment. Also she runs the charter out of a public dock so if there are other people using the dock (as was the case when we returned) we had to wait for the other people to leave the dock before we could depart and after being bored to tears for a few hours we couldn't wait to get off the boat. I would suggest you look elsewhere for a charter.

Trinity Park Tabernacle

Reviewed By tinaNtravel - San Jose, California

The Tabernacle isn't really worth visiting on its own and even as you walk past it, it isn't really worth stopping to investigate further. However, it is along the path as you visit the unbelievably cute gingerbread houses and is in a pretty green park area. Also, it might be a nice place to rest and there are porta-potties outside in case you need one, while walking around the cottages...

Circuit Avenue

Off-beat and quirky shopping enclave in Oak Bluffs.

Reviewed By heumanntouch - Southern California

This is an alright area to visit if you love to shop or are looking for a place to eat but only if you have time. The area is full of trinkets to memorialize your visit to the vineyard. The restaurants in the area are decent but outside of a few most are tourist traps with expensive prices and marginal food. The other problem with this location is parking as it can be a challenge when it is busy. The good news is you can park for 2 hours for free.

Stopped by Island Alpaca Company on a whim and we were wonderfully surprised by our experience there. We had no children with us...so know that adults can enjoy this destination too. It's clear that the farm is most concerned about the welfare of their animals, not creating a touristy destination. The alpacas are beautiful and gentle. Take time to talk with the caretakers to learn about the animals and to witness their relationship with each one. The alpacas have names and personalities. Again...loved our visit to this special place!

There are other better light houses to see. I ran here every morning from our hotel which is a nice run. But unless I missed something it's on private property and you can't go past the fence. Signs everywhere saying no trespassing. Thus, you really can't see it.

Martha's Vineyard Playhouse

The Playhouse operates year-round, presenting a wide selection of contemporary and classic plays; nurturing and developing new plays through staged readings, professional workshops and world premieres; and producing many special plays, musical and other types of events on our intimate Patricia Neal Stage in our historic theater in downtown Vineyard Haven.

Reviewed By PanoramaPoint - Seattle Washington

What was an old church turned into a playhouse has been transformed by complete renovation to an outstanding facility in lobby, restrooms, stage and audience seating. It's absolutely beautiful anywhere you look. Large boat paintings add bright color to the lobby social area. Light wood floors give an airy feel. The Patricia Neal Stage is attractive and new audience blue cushioned seating is comfortable. Box Office people, ticket takers and other volunteers are so very helpful and friendly.

The new opening was accompanied by a World Premiere of The Whaleship Essex, truly a captivating, well-cast, cleverly staged and memorable play based on an actual whale attack. Attend this first-rate playhouse and see a good play. You'll be glad you did!
