Tour Musee

Open on Saturdays from 2pm to 5pm. (3pm to 6pm on july and august) Real symbol of Velaux, the tower overhanging the village is the only vestige of a former medieval castle. After an important restoration, this building 15m high is a museum today exposing the archaeological collections of the Gallic city of Roquepertuse. From the terraces of the 2nd floor, a panoramic view is offered to visitors.

Site archeologique de Roquepertuse

Roquepertuse is a classified conservation area. You will discover the foundations from the IIIrd century BC and can observe the rocky and notches of houses. (An exhibition is visible in the Tour Musee.) The site of Roquepertuse is opened to the visit all year round. Consult the conditions of access to the massifs on Prefecture’s website.

Musee du Moulin Seigneurial

The Moulin Seigneurial is a former oil mill dating from the XVIth century. The ground floor is dedicated to a temporary exhibition every year, having for theme the history of Velaux. On the first floor, the exhibition « dinosaurs in Provence », dedicated to the paleontology makes the visitors travel 65 million years BC. Eggs and fossils discovered on the site of the Bastide Neuve are exposed.
