A few words: big, clean, full of green ( flowers, grass, trees) very well kept. You find inside a tennis court, during winter is a skating place, a few restaurants. Is not allowed with bikes and is forbidden to walk/stay on the grass. Amazing park, really worth a walk.

Malinesti Monastery

Reviewed By Codruta - Romania

You will definitely find a piece of heaven at the Malinesti Monastery situated in beautiful Moldova, in Vaslui County, Garceni village.
As soon as you step into the yard of the monastery, you will feel the touch of God surrounding you in every sound of the silence and in every color of the flowers in the beautiful garden of the church.
The beautifully painted church, besides being a work of art in itself, it is also the home of a Miracle Maker Icon, of the Virgin Mary. It is said that the icon remained untouched by a devastating fire that burnt the old church down in the 18th century. The church was re-build in 1826, and it is currently a monument pertaining to the Romanian National Heritage.
The monks have divine terraces full of geraniums and a masterly kept garden. At the first sight, you will think that there are more monks taking care of the monastery, but there are only 7 of them.
Malinesti Monastery the perfect place to sooth your soul and to re-charge your batteries, especially if you have the chance to meet and to talk to Father Filip (the abbot of the monastery) and to Father Daniel. They are the embodiment of wisdom. God bless this beautiful place and all the people taking care of it!
